Ssssh, Your Negative Mouth...

This is my quote of the day.  Yesterday & today has just had so much negativity about it thanks to PPB.  First, I'll start with the talent show at Sunshine's school.  PPB just HAD to sing in it & Sunshine being the "people pleaser" she is, said she would do it but I don't think that she really wanted to.  Sunshine was SO nervous, I felt horrible for her!  & I'll just say that PPB's singing voice is no better than her speaking voice & her speaking voice is high pitched & annoying as Hell!  It was not enjoyable to watch.
Then today, PPB struck BIG time!  She got into it with Trouble on Sunshine's Facebook.  It was horrible!  To make a long story short, Trouble went on to the computer & Sunshine was still logged in to her Facebook & Trouble did the whole "Trouble is the best sister in the world" deal.  Typical, right?  Well, PPB commented on it & told Trouble that she was being disrespectful (note:  nothing Trou…

Thankful Thursday: January 30th Edition...

It's Thursday which means I have to think of some things that I'm thankful for on this day:
1.  Dinner talk with no cellphones.  I went out to dinner last night with Trouble & one of her friends (who I adore) & I made them leave the phones alone so we could talk to each other.  I know, an odd concept for a teen ("why talk to the people right in front of me, when I could talk to the WHOLE world?!).  But we had some nice convos & I enjoyed it probably more than either of them realizes.
2.  Ms. Karen.  She's a teacher at Sunshine's school & she came up to me after Sunshine's talent show (which I'll tell you all about in another blog) & told me how great it is that I come to all these things at school for Sunshine.  It's very rare that I miss anything.  She also told me how great I am for both girls.  That made me feel good.  :)
3.  My "nephew", C.  C & his baby sister, D, will be coming over tonight & I asked C what …

Some People...

...Don't Deserve The Title Of "Mother"...

Last night was a pretty good night.  I had my weekly dinner with my grandparents, some convo, off to tan (yes, I know, it's bad for you but it makes me feel good in these cold Wisconsin winters) & then home to finish up the first season of Grimm.  Well, it started off nice but then girls' mom must be off her medication again & started attacking Trouble of a profile picture Trouble has on her Facebook.  I checked out the picture, I had my grandparents check out the picture & Ashley checked it out as well.  None of us thought anything was wrong with it.  We all thought that the picture was cute.

Well, apparently, PPB (Pathetic Psycho Bitch <-- Trouble's nickname for her, not mine) didn't think so & she sent a message to Trouble telling her that she looked like a hooker & a tramp & that she was only posting pictures like that for attention.  Are you frickin' kidding me?!  First of all, …

Just Call Me Elsa...

Yesterday I was a scary, horrible looking White Walker.  Today, I'm a beautiful blonde ice queen.  That's pretty much me in a nutshell...you think I'm kidding, I am not.  Here's an example of how "all over the place" I am:  my music.  I'll just give you rundown of a couple of songs from my starred playlist on Spotify:

~  The Outsiders by Eric Church
~  It's The Truth by Civet
~  Know You Wanna Know by Jennifer Nettles
~  Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo
~  Bonnie & Clyde by Kellie Pickler
~  Watch Me Burn by Lansdowne
  ~  Hustlin' by Rick Ross
~  Run With The Devil by Pop Evil
  ~  Perfume by Britney Spears
~  Got Off That by Pitbull

That is no jokes.  I have multiple playlists by genre:  pop, country, hip-hop, rock, classic rock, oldies, Broadway, Disney, etc.  Some days I just wanna blare some angry rock music & other days, I wanna sing along with the Rent soundtrack...& sometimes, that changes within songs.  I'll be …

White Walker Wisconsinnites...

Some of you may be familiar with the White Walkers from Game of Thrones.  If you are not, here is a Cliff Notes explanation of them:  they are basically zombies that dwell in the cold, dark regions above The Wall.  So, what I felt like going outside today.  It's colder than...well, I can't say Hell cuz Hell is hot...so, I guess it's colder than what it is above The Wall.

It's currently -21* right now.  It's frickin' freezin'!  I cannot hack this crap anymore!  I'm half-tempted to go get me a big ol' icicle, tie some string around it & do my best White Walker impersonation cuz that's what it's like here in Wisconsin.  I'll roam the streets screaming like the White Walkers do:

Well, Ned Stark, Winter has come to Wisconsin...

Five Things To Do In Wisconsin...

I'm totally stealing this idea from Living Barefoot & Crazy (5 Things To Do In Washington State).

1.  I'm a sports fanatic so you had to know that I would pick our sports venues - Lambeau Field, Miller Park & Camp Randall.  I've been to all of them multiple times & they are all awesome!  My favorite, however, is Camp Randall.  Not only do you get to cheer on the Badger football team but you have the UW matching band that travels around the stadium during the second half & the Jump Around right before the 4th quarter that shakes the whole stadium.

2.  Minocqua / The Northwoods.  This area is my "happy place".  Beautiful scenery, lovely shops, delicious eats, etc.  & that's just the summertime!  I'm not much of a winter person but there is plenty of snowmobiling & stuff up there during the winter including a HUGE snowmobiling race in Eagle River every year.

3.  A cheese factory.  There are tons & tons all over the state.  Watch t…

All About Sunshine...

Here I sit on a Friday morning just counting down the minutes until I can get outta here & start my weekend…there are a lot of minutes left.  *sigh*  I don’t even have anything in mind to write about in this blog, I’m just blogging to do something to make the minutes go faster.  It doesn’t seem to be working very well though.  What can I write about…hmmm…I guess I could write a little bit about Sunshine.
Sunshine is twelve & one of the sweetest kids you’ll ever meet.  She’ll just crawl up beside you & be like “you’re beautiful & I love you”.  No jokes, she does.  She’s a young twelve but I do believe that she has an “old soul” because the compassion & love she has for others is above most other kids her age.  Can she be a pain in the ass?  Most definitely!  Sometimes she’ll follow me around like a lost puppy & I have to tell her “I already have one shadow, I don’t need another one”.  Ha!  She does have a strong fear of me leaving as her mom did, she has told m…

Thankful Thursday: January 23rd Edition…

My lovely friend, Ashley, did a Thankful Tuesday blog the other day & that got me thinking that I should pick up where I left off with the last blogging site I was fully on with Thankful Thursday blogs.
So, today, I am thankful for the following things:
    1.  Ashley.  She has been my shoulder to lean onto, my ears to listen & she's multiple states away.  I call her my Southern Bestie cuz that's just what she is.  I love her with all my heart & just wish that we lived closer so we could hang out.  We've only met face-to-face once & I treasure that time I got to spend with her.  Thank you, Ashley, for being so damn great!
    2.  Birthday Spa Days.  My 33rd birthday is coming up & ever since I started working, I've always taken my birthday off to do something special.  Well, lately, it's been having some type of spa treatment.  For this birthday, I'm going to a nice spa in a neighboring city for a 3-4 hour package that includes three servic…

I'm Stuck In A Rut...

After reading We're The Gladiators by Little Reminders of Love, it got me thinking about my OCD, depression & anxiety.  Winter is the worst time for me as I dislike the cold & loathe the snow.  The only fresh air I get is from walking from my car into work or the house or the store.  I need warmth & fresh air.  I can totally tell lately that it's getting the best of me.  I'm not happy when I'm home with my family - Goose won't get away from the TV, Trouble won't clean up her room & Sunshine asks for help with her homework but then has a fit when I try to explain why what she had was wrong.  Lately, I have been kind of avoiding them & planning things that take me out of the house from right after work until after everyone is in bed.  It's driving me crazy & I'm sure that it's driving them crazy as well cuz I feel like all I'm doing is yelling at someone when I am home.

I'm already on medication but in these cold winter…

Coffee Blogging Break…

What a night/morning.  Ugh!  I went to my grandparents’ for dinner & convo last night (& do pretty much every Tuesday) & I get home to a mess.  Now, the people in the house are 12, 15 & 37, so one would think that people of those ages could clean up after themselves…apparently not.  So, I have to clean when I get home, fold a load of laundry & before I go to bed, I always like a cup of milk to take my vitamins & such.  Guess what, no more milk!  I lost it!  Swear words came flying outta my mouth & I just decided that it would be a good idea to retire to my room & watch Grimm on my Kindle.  That gave me about 40 minutes to calm myself but I was still pretty crabby by the time I was done.  I just cannot understand how nobody can clean up after themselves, I do it & it’s really not that damn difficult.  Grrr!
My lovely OCD really plays a part in my crabbiness over messes.  For me, everything has it’s place & if things are not put back in that plac…

I Might Need Some Coffee...

I'm not much of a coffee drinker but my friend, Jill, is slowly making me into a coffee drinking, scarf wearing, girl.  It's kinda freaking me out cuz I never thought that the day would come that I would debate over what scarf to wear while wishing I had a caramel latte in my hand from Starbucks.  What is happening to me?!  Oh, & get this, I also went this weekend & got my first set of acrylic nails!  Who am I becoming?!  Am I becoming an adult?!  This is really scaring me, people!  Even at this very moment, I'm drinking coffee & hot cocoa...it's from a Winnie the Pooh mug but there is coffee in there.  Eeek!

I've been fighting this whole having to grow up thing but I have not been successful.  *sigh*  I had the discussion with Jill the other day (after I had my very first caramel latte from Starbucks) about going back to high school.  I would love to go back to high school but high school as I remember it - no Facebook, no cellphones, etc.  I could not…

Blue 32, Blue 32, Hike...

So, the weekend is upon us - THANK GOD!  I don't really have anything planned for the weekend but one thing I do know, I will not be at work & I should be able to sneak in some reading & some episodes of Grimm.  That right there, makes me rather happy!  :)

I'll also be able to watch my second & third favorite teams go against each other in the AFC Championship game & my fourth & fifth place teams go against each other in the NFC Championship.  It's gonna be a good weekend for football, that's for damn sure!

With that, I feel that I should go down my top five favorite NFL teams & explain why I they are on my list:

  1.  Green Bay Packers.  First of all, if you live in Wisconsin & don't love the Packers, you may be stoned to death.  There are few things us Sconnies love & that's the Packers, cheese & beer...if you don't like any/all of those things, you might as well get the Hell out!  Plus, what lady would NOT want to che…

Just Fillin' The Time...

I'm bored & don't want to work so figured I would do this little blog challenge thingie, steal if you like.  :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~ Puppies or kittens?  I love both but if I were to get one, I would go with kittens cuz they are much easier to have than puppies.  If I didn't have to work, then I may consider getting a puppy.

~ Favorite color?  Why?  Purple probably because it's my birthstone color.

~ Favorite song?  There are way too many to list, that's for a different blog.

~ Name something on your Bucket List.  To get out to each coast for a visit - NYC & LA.

~ Favorite meal?  Oh, that's a hard one but I think that I'll go with my grandma's chicken & dumplings.  She always says that they are no good but it's one of my favorite meals ever!  :)

~ If you had all the money in the world, where would you live & why?  I'd live everywhere!  I'…

Quality Time With Trouble...

Every other Wednesday, I alternate between spending time with my mom & Trouble.  It was supposed to be dinner & church night but has recently turned to dinner & shopping night.  But I figure, I'm still spending one on one time with each & that's important.

So, Trouble picked out Noodles & Company for supper & we sat there for about an hour eating & talking.  It was so crazy, I would look across the table at her & she looked so grown up & adult-like.  I was even more proud cuz the whole time we sat there, she didn't play with her phone/iPod, she talked to me.  It was just so nice to have a little one on one time with her cuz she has such a strained relationship with her mother & it's very difficult for her to see eye to eye with her father right now.

We talked about many things - her grades, the upcoming school dance, what her closest friends were up to, the evil things a senior boy did to a girl who's only in 8th grade, etc. …

Oh Goose...

After reading Sh*t Men Say Vol.1 by Living Barefoot & Crazy, it made me want to talk about some of the silly things my husband does.

He loves to make up little songs about me and sing them to me...poorly sung but sung all the same.  It's just the most awkward songs about anything & everything about me.  They tend to make me giggle &/or roll my eyes.  Ha!

Our "nephew", C, is four years old & the only boy nearby so one night, Goose invited C over for a sleepover but first, Goose had to go to his parents' & get his old Hot Wheels & track.  They had this track ALL over the living room & played while Avatar played on the TV.  No jokes whatsoever!

It just makes me love him even more when he puts on his silliness & seeing him play with C makes me wonder how happy he would be if I gave him a son.  He would probably be to the moon & back with happiness cuz the poor guy is surrounded by females all the time, even our two cats are females.  …

It's A Winter Wonderland...

Well, the snow has been falling during the morning hours & I've already gotten myself stuck in a snowbank on the way to work.  Luckily, it was just around the corner from home & my husband decided to work from home today because of the snow so he was able to come get me out.  I hate snow, my little car hates snow, it's just not a good combo.  *sigh*

My husband aka Goose, he's quite the guy.  I've been with him for over three & a half years now & we've been married since October.  People ask if it feels different to be a married gal now &, you know what, it really doesn't.  The only thing different is that I have to remember that I have a new last name.  :)

I was introduced to him by one of my best friends & her husband.  They lived next door to him & they thought it would be a great match.  I'll be completely honest in saying that when they first told me about him, I wasn't ready.  I was into someone else at the time but they…

Crampy Monday...

Yes, you read that right, it's a "crampy Monday" already.  Of course, you could probably tell from the title that it's that time of the month for the wonderful "Aunt Flo".  I'm cramping SO bad that I wanna go punch someone right in the gut so they feel the pain that I currently am.  Ugh!  The joys of being a female.  Part of me really just wants to go to the doctor & be like "take it out, I don't want or need it!"  However, being only 32 & never having a baby, the doctor probably wouldn't allow me to do that quite yet.  *sigh*

Don't get me wrong, I love babies but only if they stayed babies.  My favorite time is about six months when they can hold their own heads up & laugh & smile...but that doesn't last long cuz soon after they learn to walk (get into things) & talk (bring on the sass).  I took care of my "niece", D, yesterday & she'll be five months this week & she's a blast.  Sh…

This Year...

A Bad Habit I Want To Break: not exercising. My last year was crazy insane with getting married so I didn't do much exercising. I used to hit the treadmill quite a bit and actually went to a free yoga class a couple of weeks ago and loved it.

A New Skill I'd Like To Learn: sewing. I knew how when I was taking a home ec. class but that was over 15 years ago. So, someone patient need only apply!

A Person I Hope To Be More Like: my friend, Lisa. She just oozes positivity and is such a beautiful soul. I love just being around her and I'd love to be a person like that.

A Good Deed I Want To Do: just like brlracincwgrl, get someone's tab behind me at a drive thru or coffee shop.

A Place I'd Like To Visit: I'd really like to venture to NYC to see some Broadway plays, walk through Central Park and be amazed by the madness of Times Square.

A Book I'd Like To Read: my list grows with everyday but I'll say Divergent is the next one to read.

A Letter I'm Going …

Blogging And Football...

I have decided that I really need to get my blog on. I'm sitting here with the hubby with football on after a busy crazy day. At about 8:30 this morning, I find out that my mom was in an accident two hours earlier. She was fine but shaken and a lil sore.

Long story, short, my youngest and I spent the afternoon with my mom and sister. It's important to spend time with family and I'm so glad that my youngest feels the same, she has such a good heart and cares deeply for others. I hope that she never, ever loses that and for that, I call her "Sunshine".

I know that I haven't been on this site and should probably give a lil background on me: I'm a 32 year old legal assistant from Wisconsin. I married a wonderful guy back in October who I'll call Goose (I'll explain that later). I have two beautiful stepdaughters - Sunshine and the oldest who I'll call Trouble (which I'll also explain later). I love sports especially the Packers, Badgers and Br…
