To Be Honest Tuesday...

To be honest, I am actually pretty excited to have the day off tomorrow to clean & get ready for Thanksgiving.  We'll be hosting again year & instead of getting all stressed out & trying to clean & help Paul cook all on Thursday, I figured that I would take Wednesday off to get all the cleaning done so I can just concentrate on helping Paul with the cooking.  He's the chef & I really think that he had a fun time last year with the turkey.

So, I'm gonna be blaring the music & doing some deep cleaning tomorrow in my sweats.  I'm pretty excited & nobody better mess my shit up before everyone comes over on Thursday or death will become them!  Ha!

It's All About The Hunger...

...the hunger for the Hunger Games.

So, I decided that after seeing Mockingjay:  Part I for the second time I would do a little bloggy-poo all about the Hunger Games. So, here...we...go...

  1.  What was your favorite book from the series?  Catching Fire.  I loved the whole thing - the love forming between Katniss & Peeta, the arena, the start of the rebellion, etc.  Awesome.

2.  What was your favorite movie so far?  Again, I'll have to go with Catching Fire.  I love the introduction of all the new characters especially Johanna.  She's awesome!

  3.  In the movies, what was your favorite fashion statement by Katniss?  I'm gonna go with the shawl/scarf things she wears at the beginning of Catching Fire.  But I also like the feathered ball gown as well.

4.  Are you Team Peeta or Team Gale?  Team Gale & not because he was played by Liam Hemsworth.  I liked Gale in the books & until the end of Mockingjay, I really thought he was the best for Katniss cuz they were so mu…

Musical Monday...

The Thanksgiving Song by Adam Sandler
I love this song.  It's one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving - this song...okay, & spending time with the family.  Geez.
Anywho, the weekend was pretty decent.  Only had a few bumps in the road with the offspring but, all in all, a decent weekend.
I saw Mockingjay twice - once on Friday with Paul, Jake & Courtney after a delicious dinner at Milwaukee Burger.  YUMMMMMMY!  & then on Saturday, after a day of shopping with Sunshine & AT.  Trouble wanted me to go see it again yesterday but I wasn't ready to see it for a third time & I really just wanted to sit home & finish up my chores.  Trouble did convince Sunshine to go with her but that all crumbled after a visit to Walmart & McDonald's for them.  They cannot get along for more than an hour or two.  Ugh.
I was so proud of my shopping trip, I got a lot done for Christmas presents.  Awhoo hoo!  I'm so proud of myself for really being ahead of sche…

Funny Friday...

Ah, yea I do!  How great would that be?!  It would be the best!

Jill wants me to go shopping with her on Black Friday & I said "absolutely not".  & that is two-fold:

  1.  It's too damn early in the morning & Mandie needs her sleep.
  2.  I'd end up shanking (sp?) someone in the middle of the Barbie aisle over a Monster High doll.

Nope, not for this girl.  I'll do my Black Friday shopping on Amazon, thank you very much!  Tee hee!

I am SO excited to start this weekend, I cannot even sit still!  Tonight, right after work it's up to meet my friends, Jake & Courtney for dinner at Milwaukee Burger & then Mockingjay!  It was originally just supposed to be Courtney & I but we decided to let the husbands come along.

Tomorrow, I'm taking Sunshine & AT to visit my sister in Oshkosh & do some Christmas shopping & such.  I am so excited.  I'm gonna shop the HELL outta the Under Armour store at the outlet mall for the hubby.…

Five Friday Favorites...

Another Friday - awhoo hoo!  & here are my list of Favorites for the week.  This week's favorites are my favorite things to be doing this time of year:

  1.  Cuddling up with my favorite blanket.

  2.  Watching all the Thanksgiving episodes from Friends.

  3.  Watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (next Friday).

  4.  Sit by my grandparents' fireplace.

5.  Watch football!

Yup, Aaron, that's what I do when I see your fine ass get a touchdown.  ;)

Thankful Thursday...

I needed a little flower today as it's frickin' freezin' outside here in 'Sconnie & there will be no flowers to look at for about five months.  Blah!  But even with that, there is always something to be thankful for & here are the things I am thankful for on this Thursday:

  1.  I am thankful for fun weekend plans.  Tomorrow, Paul & I are going to have supper & then go see Mockingjay with some high school friends of mine.  Saturday, I'm taking Sunshine & AT to Oshkosh to hang out with my sister & do some shopping & such.

  2.  I am thankful for lefse.  If you aren't Norwegian or didn't grow up in a Norwegian home like I did, you probably have no idea what lefse is.  The best way to describe it is a potato tortilla.  There are many ways to make it up but I was brought up putting nothing but butter & sugar on it.  It's SO good.  Well, Paul's buddy makes it & he gave me some pieces & really made my day yesterday…

November Birchbox...

Yup, that's right, both Ipsy & Birchbox done on time!  I should get a prize or, at least, a gold star for getting them done in the right month!  :)

The whole box.

Not Soap Radio body wash:  LOVED IT!  I especially loved the lil message on the bottle "a wash in a field of four-leaf clover (when you need good things to happen - yesterday)".

Fekkai masque:  this is another hair masque & let me tell you, I am hooked on hair masques now.  They are all amazing!

Gilchrist & Soames lotion:  this stuff is perfect to use right before bed as it has a relaxing scent to it.  :)

Dr. Lipp original nipple balm for lips:  the name threw my off for a bit...I mean, it says "nipples" right in the title!  Eeek!  However, amazing.  I had a cold sore on my lip, helped clear that right up!

Justin's Chocolate Almond Butter:  I have this to Chelsie cuz as soon as I saw it, I knew she would enjoy it & guess what, she already knew I was going to give it to her before …

November Ipsy Bag...

Can you believe it, I'm doing a review of my November Ipsy bag & it's STILL November!  Whaaaaat?!?!  Ha!

Here she is:

The whole thang.

Girl meets glitter, yea she does!

Oil of Morocco hairspray:  I don't have much need for hairspray so I have not had a chance to use this yet but it's in the drawer all ready for some future use.  :)

Be A...Bombshell eye base:  I loved the BAB mascara & this stuff was no different.

SeaRX micro dermabrasion scrub:  this stuff was FABULOUS!  It helped get rid of the dead skin around the eczema on my nose.  LOVED IT!!!!

Starlooks lipgloss:  I really liked this stuff too, gave my lips a nice natural shine.

Bye Bye Under Eye:  I'm not much for concealer & especially on meant for the old lady bags under my eyes.  I'll try it once I get over the fact that I'm old.

Sparkly glitter bag - my favorite bag thus far.

Words of Wisdom Wednesday...

I've actually told Sunshine this many times when she's complaining that this friend has that or that friend has this.  I remind her of the wonderful things she has before her - her own bedroom (small but nice), a home to live in (not too fancy but homey), clothes on her back (most from Justice), the food in her belly (sometimes her favorite, sometimes not), the iPhone 4 in her hand (not a 6 but still a good phone), etc.  Once I remind her of those facts, she's typically fine.  She has more than some but less than others & that's just the way life is & she's really beginning to see that.  :)

My Christmas Wish List...

Guess what?!  Blog Bandit struck again!!  This time the victim is Courtney at Sweet Turtle Soup.  :)

I've been wanting to sit down & make up a Christmas list so here we go:

  1.  Amazon Kindle gift card.  I have tons of books on my wish list & it would be nice to start taking some of them off there.
  2.  TV Series - The League, AHS: Coven, & 2 Broke Girls specifically but I'm behind on The Big Bang Theory and Sons of Anarchy so I would take some of those too.
  3.  Books.  The only books that I'm purchasing anymore are books by James Patterson & I sat down in my room where all my books are last night & made a checklist of the books of his I need yet - only 21.  But that will increase rather quickly as he releases new books ALL the time.  I can't keep up!  Ha!
4.  Under Armour hoodies.  I have two & I love them.  I want them all!
5.  A record player.  My mom gave me all her records & there is nothing more that I would like to do right now…

Chris, You Have My Vote...

If you're just reading me, you have no idea how much I love Chris Hemsworth.  I think that he's just gorgeous & there are things that I would do to that man that I would do to no other.  My love for him came to fruition when he was in Thor & just grew with every movie after that.  He's hot!
So, when I saw this morning that he is the Sexiest Man Alive for 2014, I was all like "duh".  I just cannot keep my eyes off him - long hair, short hair, brown hair, dirty, clean - I'll take him anyway I can get him.  Needless to say, this girl will be buying this copy of People asap along with a bib to catch all the drool.  Yum, yum.

#SOTWW...

Ohhh, what new tune shall I share with you folks this week...thinking...thinking...GOT IT!!!!

Stolen Dance by Milky Chance
I don't know where this band came from but I like the tuneages they produce.  This one is very toe tapping & I LOVE that.  Who doesn't, right?!
Enjoy!  :)

To Be Honest...

To be honest, I am shocked that I do not drink.  Maybe I should take being a drunk up, life would probably be a lot easier.

In the words of Scar:

I really am surrounded by idiots - the clientele at work, my husband & my oldest stepdaughter.  You would think that working in the legal field for over 12 years & being in a big family with enough issues to make a soap opera, I would get used to the idiots.  However, there is always one idiotic move that has to have me scratching my head.  I mean, really, what happened to all the smart people?!  There has to be some out there, right?
