To Be Honest...

To be honest, I was going through some pictures of Trouble & Sunshine on their Instagrams & maybe I'm biased cuz they are my stepdaughters but I think they are both pretty dang cute:

They both drive me absolutely batty & I want to beat them most of the time...however, I still love them & just want the best for them both.

When I'm having a bad day with Trouble, I just have to remember that she does have a good heart, that she can be a good, caring, loving person.  I have seen that in her.  She worries so much about her friends & will fight for anyone she loves at the drop of a hat but sometimes I think that's just so she can fight cuz Lord knows, she's good at that!  Ha!

When I'm having a bad day with Sunshine, I just have to remember that if it weren't for her, I probably would have lost my mind & took off.  For such a young girl with a tiny frame, she has taken on a lot of weight of many relationships around her.  She is so considerate of everyone & has such a great soul...a great OLD soul.  She is wise beyond her thirteen years on this Earth.

So, at the end of the day, I should consider myself is really hard sometimes though but all the bad days will pass & hopefully at the end of the tunnel, I'll have two great ladies that I helped raise into that.

In the meantime, I could use a drink or two.  Tee hee!

  1. Aw what a cute post :) You're a good stepmama. And they both are beautiful!

    1. I try my best to be a good role model for them. I have always told them that their looks will only get them so far, they need to be good, kind people to go the distance. I especially made that clear to Trouble, she blossomed & as she did her personality went to crap but I am hopeful that she's on the up & up now. :)

  2. hahaha, I think raising kids definitely requires a drink or two on occasion. Always a new challenge on the horizon. We just do our best!

    1. You are right, we can just do our best & we'll make mistakes, we're not perfect as parental figures but it's all a learning experience for everyone involved. So, when your lil thang starts getting into her teens & you need some advice, head on over my way. :)

  3. awh!! such a cute tribute to your sweet girls :) It's amazing how much they can teach us as well as us teaching them

    Lovely Little Rants

    1. Exactly! My struggles with Trouble (her nickname fits her rather well - ha!), she's been a lesson for me, her dad & her sister. We're all learning & growing. :)

  4. As a mom of two - drinks are necessary from time to time! So - CHEERS!

    1. Oh yea, raise up those glasses! Tee hee!

  5. They are beautiful girls and are lucky to have such a caring step mother in their lives :)

  6. Loyal and considerate are two great traits. Lovely post :)

    1. Loyal, yes, Trouble is loyal. & Sunshine, she is just the most considerate lil thing. :)

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli (I like the new button, by the way!) &/or Liz.

My five this week are five Christmas gifts that I got for Sunshine.
  1.  Adidas pants.  I had more thing to get her & she mentioned at her gymnastics meeting that she wanted a pair of these.  I got online & picked her up a pair ending my Christmas shopping for her.
  2.  Paper lanterns.  They were on sale one day at The Walmart & I couldn't resist getting them for her to hang in her bedroom.

  3.  A wax warmer & melts.  She has her bedroom upstairs & we don't allow candle burning up there were it cannot be watched.  Plus, with the mess a teenage girl makes, something is bound to catch on fire.  Anywho, so I got her this warmer and some melts that she can use to make things smell all nice & stuff.  :)

  4.  A Pink sweatshirt & matching socks.  I …

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I got my Christmas cards all out last Friday & that people have already been receiving them!  Now, it's my turn to receive some cards to hang on the front door.  I love receiving them & looking at all the smiling faces & reading the fun "family letters" especially from my aunt, Nellie.  :)

I am thankful...that I got to have a nice evening with my mom & her boyfriend last night.  I had to drop off Sunshine's Christmas gift & pick up her pet carrier so I could take all three cats to the vet this morning so she fed me one of my favorite meals that I never get to have at home - tuna casserole.  & then when I got home, Jill was on her way over so I chatted with her, helped Sunshine with her outfit for tomorrow (she has to dress up as the gymnastics team has a meet this weekend) & then to bed to read & such.

I am thankful...for this coloring book that I got Trouble as part of her Christmas present.  I looked through it yes…

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli &/or April.

My five this week is ways to stay warm when it's frickin' freezin' in Central Wisconsin.

  1.  Drinking warm beverages - coffee, cocoa, tea.  Add some Rum Chata or Baileys for a lil extra warmth.

  2.  Set yourself on fire...or sit really close to a fire &/or space heater.

  3.  Take a long hot bath maybe enjoy your warm beverage as like Olaf is doing.

  4.  Bundle up like Randy does in A Christmas Story - "I can't put my arms down!"

  5.  Just stay in your nice warm bed snuggled up with your cats & a good book or Netflix.
