Funny Friday...

Tee hee!  This is hilarious!  :)

Well, we have another adventurous weekend ahead of us:

Tonight - taking Sunshine to her mom & then I don't know, we have no plans but to stay over in the Fox Valley for the night.  Dinner, drinks, maybe a movie.  I don't know.  Guess we'll see where the wind takes us.

Tomorrow - Star Wars Night at Miller Park.  I'm really hopeful that the guys can pull a win out of their butts but as long as I have a combo bag of Heavenly Nuts in my hand, I really don't care if they win or lose.  Tee hee!  Then, we're thinking of hitting up a bar in Milwaukee that Bar Rescue saved.  They have some amazing sounding drinks so I'm pretty excited.

Sunday - a stop to the Under Armour outlet store for some goodies, pick Sunshine up from her mother & head home to get ready to start the final week of school before summer vacation...I really wish that I had summer vacation as well.  Sigh.

So, what do YOU have planned for the weekend?

Friday Five...

It seems like forever since I've done one of these...which is true, the last one I did was May 8th.  I've been slackin'!  Eeek!  Anywho, my Friday Five for today are things I love during the summer:

  1.  Baseball games.  I'll be venturing to the first Brewer game of the season tomorrow for Star Wars Night.  I am excited...I would probably more excited if the Brew Crew were on top of their game but they are not.  So, I think that I'm more excited about getting some Heavenly Nuts than the actual game.  Sorry guys but when you pull your heads outta your butts, I'll be more excited for a good game.

  2.  Campfires.  I love toasting my toes by a campfire & maybe making some s'mores with PB cups.  Yummy!  & chatting, oh, I love the chats that are held around the campfire.  They are quite entertaining from time to time.

  3.  Sitting by the lake with my book.  During the summer, I like to drive to either a local lake or the river and read my book durin…

What A Week...

This week has been amazing so far - actually this month has been amazing (for the most part).  This past week I was up north for the weekend, did some boating, some fishing & caught a baseball game last night.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves:

It's All About Me...

...but aren't all these blogs I post.  Tee hee!

The Blog Bandit's favorite victim has been hit again.  Sorry, Erin but if you would stop having such stealable content, I wouldn't have to steal it.  Ha, ha!  Anywho, I'm gonna steal her questions & answer them for myself.  So, lets go!

1.  What's the one thing always found in your purse, besides the basics?  My Badger Headache Soother.  I actually had to pull it out this morning to use it.

2.  Where do you see yourself in five years?  Getting ready to have an empty nest as Sunshine will be graduating high school & preparing to head to college.  Ah, what a great day that will be.  Paul & I will put the house up for sale & move to a new city...excellent!  :)

3.  Which show on TV should we all go binge watch immediately?  Who's your favorite character on said show?  Oh, ah...I'll go with Grimm.  It's fabulous.  I've always loved fairy tales especially the REAL ones, you know, the scary ones …

To Be Honest...

To be honest, I am forming an obsession for John Green.  No jokes whatsoever.  I read The Fault in our Stars - loved it.  I am currently reading Paper Towns by him & I'm loving it.  It is really keeping my interest & I just wanna know what Margo will do next!  Ha!  I am just hopeful that the movie coming out this summer will be done just like the movie for TFIOS was.  I was SO happy with how book was adapted to the screen on that one.

So, if you haven't read any of John Green's stuff, from the ones I've read thus far - diggin' him & I recommend that everyone gives him a try.

Musical Monday...

Bang Bang by Will.I.Am
This song was one that I heard during Sunshine's dance recital this weekend & not only did I dig the song, the dance was one of my favorites.
It was a really tiring weekend.  I am just exhausted today & I am so excited about my vacation this weekend, it cannot come soon enough.
Friday night, I ran some errands & then got to meet some of Paul's friends that were visiting from Iowa.  They were just as fabulous as he had told me they were!  Then the hubby & I went out to the casino for supper & for me to lose money.  I ended up sitting in the lobby of the casino when I had had enough & read some of my book (Paper Towns).  I should have just pocketed the money Paul gave me & did that from the very beginning because it was just not my night.
Saturday, was day one of the dance recital.  They do two performances on Saturday & two on Sunday.  It's a very busy weekend.  It's nice now that Sunshine is older cuz she gets her…

Thankful Thursday...

Hey you!  Yea, you, what are you thankful for today?  Here are a few things that I'm thankful for:
  1.  Hair appointments.  I deserve a little pampering so I'm going to get my hair did tonight - some fun & noticeable high/lowlights & a trim.  Awhoo hoo!

  2.  Jimmy John's.  I know that I've been thankful for them recently but I'm still thankful & even more so because I get to have that for my din-din tonight before ALL my running around.  Yippee!

  3.  Being hated upon.  Weird thing to be thankful for, huh?  Well, I figure that if your kids do not hate you for most of their teenage years, you're not doing your job as a parent.  I am now the Hitler to Paul's Nazi & you know what, whatever.  I take that as I'm the frickin' boss & that I should not be messed with as I will not tolerate it.  Trouble got a little reminder of that - she acted out on Monday & yesterday resulting in my taking away ALL her data & her Netflix - t…

Semi-Charmed Book Challenge...

I have decided that I'm going to attempt to do a book challenge.  I figure that it's getting nice outside & instead of closing myself up in the basement during lunch with Jimmy Fallon (sorry, Jimmy but our lunch dates may have stop until Fall), I should be, at least, sitting in my car by one of the lakes or the river reading.  So, what better way than to do it with a challenge?
I'm a little late to the game as I was finishing up Invisible by James Patterson & I had started it before May 1st so it wouldn't count:  Anywho, here are the details:
General Rules:
~  The challenge will run from May 1, 2015, to August 31, 2015. No books that are started before 12 a.m. on May 1 or finished after 11:59 p.m. on August 31 will count.
~  Each book must be at least 200 pages long. Audiobooks and large-print books are fine, as long as the regular print versions meets this length requirement.
~  A book can only be used for one category, and each category can only be compl…

Words of Wisdom...

Northern Invasion...

My very first music fest...what a ride, it was...

We started our day off at 8:00 in the a.m.  We loaded up the car & hit the road - the hubby, me & our friends, Heath & Krista.  We stopped around Menomonie for a quick brunch at Denny's.  Well, my companions were pretty please to see that they had a bar & they ordered up some beers.  Things took FOREVER & our waitress didn't come back to check on drink refills even.  We were not pleased.  Then when we finally got our food, I didn't get all my stuff.  To make up for it, the manager gave one round of beers & the other round at Happy Hour price & then I got my meal for free cuz they made it my birthday.  Okay, I'll take that.

We got back on the road & jetted on up the interstate along with other concert goers - I saw some rockin' out, a couple of moons & some pissing along the side of the street.  It's for sure a rock music fest, that's for sure!  Ha!

We finally get there, p…
