Musical Monday...

Bang Bang by Will.I.Am

This song was one that I heard during Sunshine's dance recital this weekend & not only did I dig the song, the dance was one of my favorites.

It was a really tiring weekend.  I am just exhausted today & I am so excited about my vacation this weekend, it cannot come soon enough.

Friday night, I ran some errands & then got to meet some of Paul's friends that were visiting from Iowa.  They were just as fabulous as he had told me they were!  Then the hubby & I went out to the casino for supper & for me to lose money.  I ended up sitting in the lobby of the casino when I had had enough & read some of my book (Paper Towns).  I should have just pocketed the money Paul gave me & did that from the very beginning because it was just not my night.

Saturday, was day one of the dance recital.  They do two performances on Saturday & two on Sunday.  It's a very busy weekend.  It's nice now that Sunshine is older cuz she gets herself ready - hair & makeup - & all I have to is get pictures.  Easy enough.  Paul & I went to the Saturday afternoon performance with my grandparents.  I frickin' cried during "K's" first number & then again when Sunshine got on stage.  I'm just so proud of these girls & the hard work they put in & how well they did.  They both had two pieces.

After the afternoon showing, a bunch of us went to local bar & grill for an early dinner before the girls had to jet again for the night performance.  I chased "D" all around while my husband put "C" on a gambling machine & he won $5.  Ha!

That night, it was decided by "C" that we would have a fire, so we did.  He helped Paul build the fire & get wood & even ran to fetch beverages when he was asked.  I ran & got goods to make s'mores & we tried Reese's PB Cup s'mores, amazing!  When the girls got back from their evening performance, they each had a s'more & went off to bed.

Sunday, it was off to the races again.  This time we had lunch plans with my mom, aunt & cousin.  A quick lunch at McDonald's & then off.  Again, the girls did a great job & I still cried but not as much this time around.  Then I was able to stay home the rest of the eve after dropping Trouble & her boyfriend off to watch the last performance & picking up supper for Paul & I.

It was a busy weekend but I got some great pictures from it, here are a few:

Our new gardner, "C".

My boys building a fire.

Sunshine in her jazz costume.

Strikin' a pose like MJ.

Sunshine as Cinderella (in Shrek) for her Musical Theater performance.

She wanted to do something silly & she chose "Rockstar" pose.  Ha!

  1. Aww! She's so cute and reminds me of my dance days twenty years ago, lol.

    1. Thank you. She loves dance so much & I'm thankful that she has something that she's passionate about & that keeps her out of trouble. Ha!

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli (I like the new button, by the way!) &/or Liz.

My five this week are five Christmas gifts that I got for Sunshine.
  1.  Adidas pants.  I had more thing to get her & she mentioned at her gymnastics meeting that she wanted a pair of these.  I got online & picked her up a pair ending my Christmas shopping for her.
  2.  Paper lanterns.  They were on sale one day at The Walmart & I couldn't resist getting them for her to hang in her bedroom.

  3.  A wax warmer & melts.  She has her bedroom upstairs & we don't allow candle burning up there were it cannot be watched.  Plus, with the mess a teenage girl makes, something is bound to catch on fire.  Anywho, so I got her this warmer and some melts that she can use to make things smell all nice & stuff.  :)

  4.  A Pink sweatshirt & matching socks.  I …

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I got my Christmas cards all out last Friday & that people have already been receiving them!  Now, it's my turn to receive some cards to hang on the front door.  I love receiving them & looking at all the smiling faces & reading the fun "family letters" especially from my aunt, Nellie.  :)

I am thankful...that I got to have a nice evening with my mom & her boyfriend last night.  I had to drop off Sunshine's Christmas gift & pick up her pet carrier so I could take all three cats to the vet this morning so she fed me one of my favorite meals that I never get to have at home - tuna casserole.  & then when I got home, Jill was on her way over so I chatted with her, helped Sunshine with her outfit for tomorrow (she has to dress up as the gymnastics team has a meet this weekend) & then to bed to read & such.

I am thankful...for this coloring book that I got Trouble as part of her Christmas present.  I looked through it yes…

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli &/or April.

My five this week is ways to stay warm when it's frickin' freezin' in Central Wisconsin.

  1.  Drinking warm beverages - coffee, cocoa, tea.  Add some Rum Chata or Baileys for a lil extra warmth.

  2.  Set yourself on fire...or sit really close to a fire &/or space heater.

  3.  Take a long hot bath maybe enjoy your warm beverage as like Olaf is doing.

  4.  Bundle up like Randy does in A Christmas Story - "I can't put my arms down!"

  5.  Just stay in your nice warm bed snuggled up with your cats & a good book or Netflix.
