Musical Monday/Weekend Update...

Worth It by Fifth Harmony & Kid Ink
Well, it's Monday & I'm exhausted after a busy weekend - my cousin's bachelorette party.  I had the afternoon off on Friday to get things together & head up to the cottage we were staying at.  My aunt & I were the first to arrive to the cottage we were renting & got things unpacked.  Once everyone arrived, we got our sleeping arrangements figured out & started drinking & having a good time.  We ate, we spent time in the hot tub, we played Pin the Junk on the Hunk & some Cards Against Humanity.  I think that a good time was had by all.  We were all in bed by 1:00 a.m.
Saturday, the day was spent all over the place - hot tub time, lunch & then the younger gals went shopping while me & the older gals stayed in & relaxed, I even got to take a bath in the whirlpool tub.  Then when the younger gals got back, it was time to get ready to go out on the town.  So, everyone got dolled up - even me - &…

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I saw a spark of the girl I used to know in Trouble last night.  We had a little scare yesterday, she had been texting me that she wasn't feeling well & then I get a call from Paul that his mom took her to the doctor & that they thought it may be her appendix but they had to do a CT scan & all that.  I sent a note asking if she would like me to be there or not.  I got a message back pretty much right away that said:  "come here".   I told the office manager, sent my boss an email as she was with a client & left.  Long story, short, she had an ovarian cyst that burst.  She sat & talked to me last night & she may actually have a plan for after high school!  Now, she just needs to put the plan into action.  Before she went to bed, she came over to me, gave me a hug, thanked me for coming to her & that she loved me.  There it is!  That's the girl I knew!  I've seen these sparks before & I always get hopeful that sh…

What I'm Loving Wednesday...

I'm loving...all the blogs that I've been reading where girls are going back to being stay-at-home moms.  I think that's wonderful.  Those first years before children are sprung into the school system is important to grow with them.  However, I really believe that socializing with other people/kids there age is important so I would have my young one booked in some classes at the Y for swimming & such just to make sure that they get to socialize with more than my dumb face all day.  Tee hee!  But I really do think that it's great that women are able & willing to do that.  Good for you, ladies!  If my stepdaughters were younger, I would consider the same thing but they are not so at work I will stay.

I'm loving...that I'm back on the path of being a drugged out gal.  I ventured to the doc yesterday to talk about being put back on some anti-anxiety medicine.  I don't need it at work, it's home where I need it - & it was just getting more & m…

To Be Honest...

To be honest...I am SO happy that school starts here in a week.  It'll be Trouble's senior year & Sunshine will be an eighth grader.  They both already did their orientations, got their schedules, dropped off things in their lockers.  We're so close, I cannot wait!  Now, I really understand why my mother was always so excited about school starting back up after a summer.  Ha, ha!

To be honest...I'm also a little scared that school is starting again because that means that Trouble will be back under our roof & will have to abide by our rules again.  She's not one that likes to follow rules very well.  Paul says that she's been good but that's because we just let her go during the summer because when we would make her stay home, she would just sneak out of the house.  It wasn't worth the stress so I told Paul to just let her go.  I'm hopeful that this year will be better than last year - skipping school, detentions, in-houses, getting suspended…

Twenty Things About Me...

So, yup, the Blog Bandit struck & the victim -  Karli over at September Farm.  Thanks, girl!

1.  Favorite food.  Cheese.  My latest cheese obsession has been colby jack & sharp cheddar cheese sticks.  They are the perfect bedtime snack...for me anyway.  :)

2.  Flip flops or high heels?  If you could just see my walk in high heels, you would beg me to put on flip flops.  It's a mess of a sight, let me tell you.

3.  Favorite places to shop...for me!  Maurice's & Victoria's Secret/Pink.  Although, the last couple of times I've been in Maurice's I haven't found anything that I just had to have & VS/Pink, I need to stay out of them as I have WAY too many pairs of underwear & bras.  No jokes.  I have a problem.

4.  Standard coffee order.  A caramel latte.  That's my favorite.  Yummy!

5.  Road trip must have snack.  Lately, it's been original Pringles.  Very delish.  & then some water or Fruit Punch Gatorade.

6.  DIY or hire it out?  Luckily…

Musical Monday/Weekend Update...

Pennyroyal Tea by Nirvana
Yea, Pennyroyal Tea.  It was a Nirvana themed weekend thanks to my cousin, GD.  His birthday party on Friday night was Nirvana themed - I'm really glad that I went with my gut & got him the Nirvana record instead of The Beatles one.  I love fitting into themes.  Ha!

I cannot believe that he's fifteen already.  Where the heck has the time gone?!  This is the same child that used to climb on my parents' coffee table to lay down.  Ha, ha!  He's a good kid & pretty dang talented - he plays the trumpet, drums & guitar.  He's my NOM - Number One Man.  :)
Saturday morning, Paul & I left for LaCrosse to do some boating & then meet up with my cousin, Scott, that night.  The boating was something.  We were boating on the Black River/Mississippi & it was wavy!  It was horrible!  My body still hurts from all the bouncing around.  At one point, a wave went completely over the boat & soaked us.  At that point, we decided to t…

Friday Five...

I've been a little absent the last couple of days due to being sick but I'm back now - let the daily prompt postings commence!  So, here we are, it's Friday again & I need to think of five things to do on this day & I'm coming up with a blank...actually, I'll do the last five songs that I've added to my Starred playlist on Spotify:

1.  Little Monster by Royal Blood

2.  House Party by Sam Hunt

3.  High by the Beach by Lana Del Rey

4.  Back Together by Robin Thicke & Nicki Minaj

5.  Love Myself by Hailee Steinfeld
Did I totally take the easy way out on this Friday, yea, maybe but it's early my cup of coffee is about half gone so I'm not operating on all cylinders quite yet.  Ha, ha!
So, whatcha got planned for the weekend?  Anything fun & exciting?  We have a birthday party to attend tonight.  Tomorrow, we are heading to LaCrosse to do some boating on the Mississippi.  & then Sunday, we pick up Sunshine.  I hate to say this & part of m…

L-O-V-E...

This is my going off the book a little bit - it's my usual daily prompts with some Makes Me Happy Pics sprinkled in.  But I just wanted to talk a little bit about love & such.  Just outta the blue, I had to send my hubby an "I <3 you" text.  I just do that from time to time & I don't think that I do it enough.  Life tends to get in the way & I don't tell him or show him that I love him as much as I should.  Does anyone else feel that way?  I feel that I'm always too damn crabby & that I'm too caught up in myself & my crabbiness or busy schedule to appreciate what I have in front of me.  He is a great guy & to put up with me & my controlling ways, he's a frickin' saint.  I know that I could probably not deal with my crap & still love me like he does.  I really do not deserve the love that he gives/shows me...however, I have dealt with a lot of crap from his crazy ex-wife & children so maybe I do deserve it.  …

To Be Honest...

To be honest...it's been pretty nice at home the last couple of days with no kids - Sunshine is in Iowa for the week & Trouble is off doing whatever a 17 year old does (I don't want to know).  So, Paul & I have been taking advantage of it - eating out, going boating & just hanging out in front of the TV.  Last night, we went & had prime rib sammiches at a local bar & grille & then came home to watch the first two episodes of Heroes - he's seen it, I have not.  Since I'm pretty much a nerd now, I figured that I needed to check the show out especially since Heroes Reborn starts this fall.

To be honest...I really didn't want to come into work this morning.  I wanted to stay in bed or just sit in the shower until all the hot water was gone & then go back to bed.  But I figured that I could not do that today, I had stuff that needs to be done & a show to attend tonight - "K" is dancing in the opening number.

To be honest...today i…

Musical Monday/Weekend Update...

Gossip Folks by Missy Elliott with Ludacris
I went through a Missy phase on Saturday & that's what I had to listen to.  I love me some Missy, when I still owed CDs, I had every single one of hers.  Love her!  :)
Anywho, on to my weekend - it was a decent one.  Friday night, I went to check on Chelsie's kitties right after work & hung out for about an hour.  The silence of their house was great...I miss that.  Ha, ha!  Then I went home, picked up the hubby & we went out for supper.  After supper, we hit up the wine bar & then a local tavern for some darts.  We then went home where we started Wet Hot Summer but didn't finish it as Paul feel asleep & I was getting there.  I'll have to finish it & do a review.
Saturday, I was up & out the door by 9:45, got myself a Reese frappe from the coffee shop & headed to my aunt's to help put flowers together for my cousin's wedding.  I didn't get home until about 5:00.  It was a long day &…

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "An uptight & by-the-book cop tries to protect the outgoing widow of a drug boss as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen."

My thoughts:  I loved all the short jokes that Sofia's character popped off at Reese's, so funny.  There were plenty of giggles but nothing near the giggle factor of The Heat.  But how can you not love tiny lil Reese.  I think that she's so stinkin' adorable, I just wanna put her in my pocket!  Ha, ha!

After this scene, Reese is hilarious from all the "baking powder".  Tee hee!

Friday Five...

So, I'm totally stealing this idea from Natalie over at That Natalie.  She did a post about songs she'll forever love so the Blog Bandit had to come out.  It'll be hard to just pick five but I'll give it a go:

  1.  Forgot About Dre by Dr. Dre & Eminem.  This is hands down my favorite rap tune & I can rap right along with the whole thing.  Yes, tiny white girl raps along with Dr. Dre.  Picture it!  Ha, ha!

  2.  Ain't Goin' Down 'Til The Sun Comes Up by Garth Brooks.  This was the only version I could find of this song but I love me some Garth, he is one of my favorite country singers.

  3.  Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin.  I was probably loving this song when I was in the womb because as soon as I could operate the record player, I was listening to Led Zeppelin IV.  I have that album on vinyl, cassette, CD & digitally & my favorite way to listen to it is on the vinyl.

  4.  Dear Prudence by The Beatles.  For some reason, when I think a…

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that tonight is the start of the Packer season!  Awhoo hoo!  I know that it's only preseason but we are just that much closer to regular season.  Ha!  I'm sporting my Packer fashion scarf that I got during the off-season so I wasn't able to wear it.  I'm wearing it proudly today, that's for sure!

Yes, Aaron, I'm doing a happy dance too!  Ha!
I am thankful...that we are also celebrating "K" & "D"'s birthday tonight as well.  I am SO excited to give them their gifts!  Here is what they got:
All of "K"'s stuff from Justice - spoiled much?  Ha!

All of "D"'s stuff - she only got the plate & silverware from the dinner set though.
I am thankful...that during lunch today I get to go check on Chelsie's kitties & hang out on her newly remodeled front porch.  It's gonna be a great lunch.  I may even go pick something up to eat...or I may just spend the time reading Looking for Alaska.  :)

WILW...

Guess what, today is Opposite Day or Sarcastic Day, whichever you prefer.  I know that I'm supposed to be blogging about what I love on this Wednesday but I'm gonna do what I "love" - insert eye roll here.

I "love"...that some pathetic little life forms broke into Greg's truck early this morning & stole a brand new gym bad that was part of "K"'s birthday present.  The person/s went into the truck (it wasn't locked - doh!), found the bag, took all the packing paper/cardboard out of it, left the garbage in the truck, left the door of the truck wide open & took off.  Luckily, they didn't take anything else & the battery didn't die due to the door being left open.  But they stole part of a little girl's birthday gift, what a bunch of losers!  Scum of the earth...

I "love"...that when Trouble was home for supper the other night, she still has NO idea what she wants to do when she's done with school.  She…
