Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Happy Christmas (War is Over) by John Lennon
I've now decided that every Musical Monday from here to Christmas will be a Christmas tune & the best way for me to start is with my favorite Christmas song.  Anything by John Lennon is always high on my "Like List".  :)
This weekend was probably more work than anything else.  I had a five day weekend & it frickin' flew they always do.  Wednesday, Paul got me up early & we cleaned the computer room, I ran some errands & then baked in the afternoon.  Paul took Sunshine to her mother that night while I stayed home to finish up my duties & then relax in front of the DVR.
My prep area - Thanksgiving episodes of Friends playing on the Kindle.
Thursday, Paul & I slept in a bit, had some breakfast, watched American Ultra (my review is here), I finished up what I needed to bring for Thanksgiving dinner with the family, got showered & headed out.
What I brought.

Also, what I brought - tee hee!

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "Having thought that monogamy was never possible, a commitment-phobic career woman may have to face her fears when she meets a good guy."

My thoughts:  this movie was hilarious!  I giggled quite a bit.  The one thing that I didn't quite understand though was that Colin Quinn played the father to Amy Schumer's character & her sister played by Brie Larson.  I think that he is far too young to be playing their father.  The cameos were fantastic & the version of himself that Lebron James played had me cracking up like you wouldn't believe!

It's well worth the viewing, I think.  Even John Cena is hilarious in it.  He doesn't play a version of his real self but he is funny!

Trainwreck's Grade: B+

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "When her father unexpectedly passes away, young Ella finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her scheming step-sisters. Never one to give up hope, Ella's fortunes begin to change after meeting a dashing stranger."

My thoughts:  while the movie was cute & I'm glad that I watched it as the animated film is one of my favorite Disney movies, I'll stick with the animated one.  I was quite uneasy with Cate Blanchett as the Wicked Stepmother...she's too beautiful & kind looking to be her.  The stepsisters were also too pretty, I thought.

I am a sucker for Helena Bonham Carter so seeing her as the Fairy Godmother was a good call for me.  I just love her to death!

Cinderella's Grade: B-

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "A stoner - who is in fact a government agent - is marked as a liability and targeted for extermination. But he's too well-trained and too high for them to handle."

My thoughts:  I'm not gonna lie, I didn't pay real close attention to this movie as I was too busy doing my "Facebook Thanksgiving Thank Yous".  This movie wasn't on my list to watch but the hubby rented it so I'll sit with it on in the background.  What I did watch was pretty funny, I especially liked Topher Grace's character.  At one point, I said:  "Eric Foreman shouldn't be talking like that!"  Tee hee!

Kristen Stewart came off as a great stoner - are you surprised, not too far from the truth.  Jesse Eisenberg, on the other hand, not so much.  I think that his part should be have casted better, even with the long hair & such, his voice is just too intelligent sounding to make him a stoner that works at a convenience store.

Tuesday Talk...

Well, today is my Tuesday/Friday as I'm off of work the next three days to prep for / celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.  One thing that I haven't done yet & not sure that I will have time for is to watch the Thanksgiving episodes of Friends.  I tend to do it every year but with not much time, I have yet to do it.  Maybe tomorrow while I'm prepping goodies, I can have them playing from Netflix.

I'm gonna be making some cute lil cheese appetizers and these lil pumpkin pies:

I hope that they turn out well & aren't a "Pinterest Fail".  I will keep yall posted.

Friday, since I don't do the whole Black Friday thing, I'll be home taking my Fall/Thanksgiving decorations down & putting up my Winter/Christmas decorations while playing Christmas Vacation.

So, with this, I bid you adieu & I hope that you have a great Thanksgiving.

Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde
Since there is no song listing for Mockingjay: Part 2, yall get Yellow Flicker Beat from Part 1 which I love this song & that soundtrack was amazing but I may have to say that Hunger Games was my favorite out of the three thus far.
Anywho, as for the weekend, I needed a good one after a crappy Thursday & this weekend was a decent one.  Friday, right after work, Paul & I headed to Milwaukee Burger to meet up with Jake & Courtney.  We all got some yummy burgers, stuffed our faces & then headed to the theater where I had already bought tickets & we saw Mockingjay: Part 2.  You can read my review for it here.  I cried just as much as I thought I would.  After the movie, we headed straight home & hit the sack.
Saturday, I rose early to go Christmas shopping in Oshkosh/Appleton with my friends, Kim & Ashlee.  I think that we were more about the trip to Olive Garden than anything else.  Ha, ha!  However, presents were bought - I g…

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "As the war of Panem escalates to the destruction of other districts by the Capitol, Katniss Everdeen, the reluctant leader of the rebellion, must bring together an army against President Snow, while all she holds dear hangs in the balance."

My thoughts:  My's hard to string them together.  I cried like I knew I would especially at one scene.  Paul said that he knew when something bad was going to happen cuz I would start squirming in my seat.  The book isn't too fresh in my head but I knew there were things that they took out that were okay & things that they added which I thought were okay specifically one scene that really made you see a character for what he/she really is.

The movie was good, it met my expectations as a reader of the book (twice) but out of the whole series, Catching Fire was my favorite.  That was also my favorite book.  Will I see it again in the theaters?  Probably not but that's because I don't …

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "Rusty Griswold takes his own family on a road trip to "Walley World" in order to spice things up with his wife and reconnect with his sons."

My thoughts:  I'm a huge fan of the Vacation movies - I mean, Christmas Vacation is one of my favorite movies of all-time & I'm WAY excited to watch it on Friday while I'm putting up Christmas decorations.

Anywho, this movie did not disappoint.  It was hilarious.  How can you go wrong with Ed Helms & Christina Applegate?!  I think that both are hilarious!  Plus, it had my boyfriend, Chris Hemsworth, in it & one of the scenes I laughed the most at was one he was in.  Too frickin' funny!  I won't tell you about the scene but if you watch it, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about!

I also really liked seeing Clark, Ellen & the original roadster make an appearance in the film.  It wouldn't be a true Vacation film without, at least, seeing Clark.  Man, I lov…

Friday Five...

Happy Friday, everyone!  I hope that everyone's day has started off well.  I'm enjoying a cup of coffee with some pumpkin spice creamer in it, my space heater is a-going & my banana nut bread candle is burning.

I'm pretty excited for this day to get over with so the hubby & I can head out to dinner with my friends, Jake & Courtney, at Milwaukee Burger & then off to see Mockingjay: Part 2.  I am so excited for the movie.  I hear that they did make some changes from the book to the screen but I hope not too much but I'm sure that I'll have to bring some Kleenex cuz I'm sure that they'll still be killing off people.  :(

Since I have very little brain power today, I'm gonna do my five favorite Mockingjay wallpapers as I added one as my computer background this morning & have had one on my phone since Sunday.  I think that I can safely say that I'm excited for this movie.  :)

It's Wednesday So That Means...

I confess...I've seen these linkups all over the place on Wednesdays & there is nothing I enjoy more than a good ol' linkup, so figured that today would be the day I do these.  #HashtagHumpDayVirgin #HumpdayConfessionsVirgin  #PoppinTheCherry

I I want to watch myself some Clueless action.  Please tell me I'm not the only one who wanted the computer program Cher had to help her pick out her clothes.  #CluelessForLife  #IStillWantThatOutfit

I confess...that the rest of this blog posting may be overtaken by GIFs from Clueless.  #YouDontCareDoYou #90sTeen4Ever

I confess...that my love for Paul Rudd started with Clueless.  He was just so cute.  #IHeartPaulRudd

There Is Good In The World...

Lately, there has just been so much negative crap going on everywhere & I posted something on Facebook yesterday & my aunt said:  "Wow, this is truly amazing.  This shows there is still wonderful, loving people in this crazy world."  Now, let me back up a bit.  In case you're new around these parts, over the summer, I attended some Rafter baseball games (they're our hometown team).  Anywho, I feel in love with this guy:

He reminded me of Corey Hart who is my favorite baseball player EVER!

Anywho, check this out, I posted it on Facebook yesterday:  "I got quite a surprise last week, the mother of my favorite Rafter, Samuel Tolleson, contacted me after seeing some pictures I posted of Sam and asked if she could send me a lil something. I never expected this, she is way too sweet. Thank you SO much, Ann Tolleson, you've really made my day! I plan on getting a shadow box to display the jersey and some pictures so when Sam is famous, I'll be able to s…

Musical Monday/Weekend Update...

Come Closer by The Beatles & NIN
For some reason, I've really been in a NIN stage lately.  I heard Head Like a Hole the other day on the radio & it's been NIN every since.  I love this mashup SO much.  I typically don't like many mashups but the first time I heard this one, I was sold.  So much fun!
As for the weekend, it was a good one.  One I'd like to go back & redo.  It started off with dropping the girls off with their mother in Appleton (Trouble just joined them for supper & then stayed with some friends over there for the weekend).  Paul & I then dropped off our stuff at the hotel, got ourselves some Panera Bread, got the Uber & headed to the martini bar.  I ended up having three martinis - my usual limit is two.
Saturday, we headed to Shawano to spend the day with my cousins - we toured the Sun Drop factory, had lunch at a local joint, went to the Packer Hall of Fame, stopped at the Pro Shop where I got some goodies for myself & sta…
