Tuesday Talk...

Have you missed me?!  It's been over a week since I've posted anything.  With going on vacation, I got too busy to blog.  I hate that!  But I'm back & this week in Tuesday Talk with Jessica, I'm gonna talk about my Memorial Day weekend which started last Thursday.

I had originally just had Friday off but then decided to take a half day on Thursday to get Up North a little earlier & then just decided to take the whole dang day off as my cousin, Jennifer, was being induced that morning & I thought that I might be able to meet my new baby cousin before I ventured.  By the time, she had him & got cleaned up & such, I was already an hour into my trip...believe me, if it would have been less, I probably would have turned around.  But I headed up & was glad to get up there early.

We pretty much just hung out chitchatting, eating & such until it was time to hit the sack.

Friday, I took my grandmother into Minocqua to do our usual shopping/lunch dat…

Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Musical Monday - The Sound of Silence by Disturbed.  This band is one of my favorite bands & I'm not even kidding.  I love Disturbed SO much that I almost cried when I couldn't see them at Northern Invasion but hopefully, Rock USA will be attended & I can control myself not to rush the stage & stroke David's chin piercings.  Tee hee!  I <3 David!

Weekend Update -

Friday:  had to go do some grocery shopping right after work & get some last minute things for Sunshine's confirmation party.  Then when the hubby & I got everything unloaded, he took me out to eat & then we came home to watch The Force Awakens.

Saturday:  we had Sunshine's confirmation party & it went on without a hitch.  The weather was beautiful, there was plenty of good convo, delicious grub & well-wishes.

After the party, I ventured over to my mother's to help with some stuff at her dwelling, picked up Sunshine to head down to the office so she could print off her …

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "New England, 1630: William and Katherine lead a devout Christian life, homesteading on the edge of an impassible wilderness, with five children. When their newborn son mysteriously vanishes and their crops fail, the family begins to turn on one another. 'The Witch' is a chilling portrait of a family unraveling within their own fears and anxieties, leaving them prey for an inescapable evil."

My thoughts:  I may have to watch this one again to get a good feel for it.  I didn't exactly like it but they really didn't explain too much or I wasn't paying close enough attention to it.  They did use actual quotes from writings back in this time period & I thought that was quite clever.

These twins creeped me out...& then when they were harassing Black Phillip, I wanted them to get their lil asses knocked over!  Ha, ha!  & I loved one scene with Thomasin & Mercy (the girl twin) cracked me up.

I do think that we'll see mo…

Friday Five...

Well, everyone, Friday is upon us again & I have another busy weekend ahead of me.  This weekend, Sunshine gets confirmed.  We have her party tomorrow & the service is on Sunday morning.  It's always something.  But in the meantime, I'm gonna linkup with some pretty cool gals - KarliDarci and Liz - for some Friday Five action.

This week are some Pins that got me giggling:

It's Wednesday So That Means...

Hey you, do you wanna hashtag some shit &/or do some confessin'?!  Well, you've come to the right place...well, not the right place cuz if you wanna linkup you gotta go visit the lovely hosts of these & that would be Laura and Nadine.  So, join in, people!

I confess...that I am REALLY looking forward to heading to my happy place next weekend for a couple of days of camping with my grandparents.  My phone hardly works in the campground &, let me tell you, that's pretty nice.  #NoSocialMedia #NoWayToReachMe

I confess...that when I have this camping weekend, I gain some weight cuz all we do is eat & sit & play games...there is nothing I would rather do!  #GonnaPutOnSomePounds #GimmeMoreIceCream

I confess...that I don't want to go home for lunch to start dinner in the crock & such.  I wanna go have a "Parking Lot Lunch" to read Goblet of Fire instead especially since it's nice outside.  #BeingAGrownUpSucks #INeedAMaidSoICanReadInstead

Tuesday Talk...

Ah, another Tuesday is here so it's time to do some talkin'.  If you wanna linkup, visit Jessica over at Sweet Little Ones.

So, the other night I was lying in bed thinking about all the cool things I enjoyed in my youth & if I could, I would probably try to get every single thing that I thought about cuz they must have been really frickin' great if I still think of them at night when I'm thirty-five years old.

For some reason or another, I was a huge Chicago Bulls fan for a lil bit.  I don't know when it started or how it started but I remember sitting in the living room with my Chicago Bulls sleeping bag watching games - Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, etc.

My Ice Capades Barbie.  I loved her, she was probably my favorite Barbie, I always played with her.  Does it seem kinda weird to anyone else that I went from watching basketball to playing with Barbies?!  Ha!

My 90210 dolls.  I didn't have all of them, I only had Brandon, Kelly & Dylan but I didn&#…

$10 at Target...

I've seen this linkup around for quite a while & always wanted to join in but since the closest Target is a half hour away, it was difficult for me to join in.  However, last week, I had to go buy Deadpool (I like Target versions of DVDs) & knew that I had to do the $10 at Target.  So, I did two different purchases & here is what I got:

I wanted some cute new sticky notes for work so my first stop was the Dollar Spot. While these notes are adorable, they don't stick the best...but I then use paperclips.  Ha!

I knew that I was getting low on  nail polish remover so got a new bottle & right next to it was the drying spray that was on sale & I have a can at home but I don't EVER want to run out of this stuff, so, I got myself another can!  :)

Grand total:  $8.95 I could have gotten some gum or something!  Sigh!
I had so much fun doing this & if you wanna linkup head on over to either CourtneyLiz or one of the other girls detailed on their posts &…

Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Musical Monday:  Mushroom Men by Les Claypool.  Since it was recital weekend, I had to choose a song from the recital & had to go with one of my favorite ones.  This song was so unique & the dance was a fun one to watch - robotic & futuristic.  Loved it!

Weekend Update:

Friday - right after work, I did my grocery shopping & then headed home to drop Sunshine off at her last dance rehearsal before the big recital weekend.  Since she was to be there for over an hour, Paul & I were able to go out for a quick bite to eat.  Then we picked her up & headed home for a quiet evening.  We watched The Boy & you can read my review about it here.

Saturday - both Sunshine & I woke up on the wrong side of the bed & had a rough morning so I didn't get any pictures of her before her first recital day.  We went to the first showing & all the girls did wonderful work.  Plus, I was so proud of myself cuz I kept it together this year & didn't cry when Suns…

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "Political interference in the Avengers' activities causes a rift between former allies Captain America and Iron Man."

My thoughts:  loved it!  You cannot tell me that if you've been around these parts before, that you are surprised.  I'm a nerd, I love superhero movies & this one did not disappoint.  Here were my thoughts right after the movie:

  1.  I'm Team Ironman.
  2.  Spiderman is a weenie.
  3.  Black Panther is one cool cat.

I went in not knowing what side I would pick:  I felt it would be Ironman but was torn because Antman was Team Captain but at the end I went with Ironman because of the bomb that was dropped.  I felt for him/Tony Stark & his anger is justified.

I've never really been a big fan of Spiderman, I like him more than Superman but there are many more superheroes that I like above him...a lot more.  Anywho, was he bad?  No, just not a character I got excited about unlike some other folks, my husband incl…

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "An American nanny is shocked that her new English family's boy is actually a life-sized doll. After she violates a list of strict rules, disturbing events make her believe that the doll is really alive."

My thoughts:  I'm gonna try to be a nice as I can with this but this was almost painful to watch.  It was not good.  The acting was bad, the doll was creepy but not as creepy as Annabelle & I honestly saw the ending coming from a mile away...& my eyesight sucks.  Ha!

I really have no other thoughts but don't waste your time with this one.  I love Lauren Cohan as Maggie on The Walking Dead but this movie just did not do it for me.  Sorry, Lauren!

From the way it ended, it looks like they wanted to leave it open for sequels...I really hope that they do not do that.
