My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "Political interference in the Avengers' activities causes a rift between former allies Captain America and Iron Man."

My thoughts:  loved it!  You cannot tell me that if you've been around these parts before, that you are surprised.  I'm a nerd, I love superhero movies & this one did not disappoint.  Here were my thoughts right after the movie:

  1.  I'm Team Ironman.
  2.  Spiderman is a weenie.
  3.  Black Panther is one cool cat.

I went in not knowing what side I would pick:  I felt it would be Ironman but was torn because Antman was Team Captain but at the end I went with Ironman because of the bomb that was dropped.  I felt for him/Tony Stark & his anger is justified.

I've never really been a big fan of Spiderman, I like him more than Superman but there are many more superheroes that I like above him...a lot more.  Anywho, was he bad?  No, just not a character I got excited about unlike some other folks, my husband included.

I am now SO excited for the Black Panther movie.  Honestly, I think that he's awesome.  Plus, I think Chadwick Boseman is awesome.  I really cannot wait until I get his full backstory in 2018...ugh, that's so far away!  Makes me sad.

So, what team are you?  Team Cap...

...or Team Ironman?

Captain America:  Civil War's Grade:

  1. I saw this weekend too. My quick summary: like you, I didn't know who I would be for, but I'd go Team Ironman too. I actually thought that the kid who plays Spiderman did a good acting job, all things considered how weird it is that in recent times, this is the 3rd Spiderman. My stepson's new favorite is Black Panther. I particularly enjoyed Falcon's little bit of humor going on. Black Widow is still a sexy badass.

    1. Yup, again, I think your stepson & I would be great friends - we could talk about our new found love for Black Panther & such. It's not like I didn't like the actor that played Spiderman but I just never really liked that character, I did watch the Tobey Maguire movies but only once & I've only seen bits & pieces of the Andrew Garfield ones.

  2. Oh! I almost forgot to say this (and I know you'll agree with me)...I miss Thor :)

    1. Yes! I totally agree with you! But I know that he will be back soon & with The Hulk in 2017. Too far away. :(

  3. I really liked Black Panther and think he's super interesting...but I'm not sure about that character sustaining a whole movie. Chadwick Boseman is amazing and can definitely do it, I just don't know about the character.

Spiderman...I think that kid playing him now was a lot of fun, but, again, I am not crazy excited about an entire movie of him. In fact, I think the running commentary would get really old REALLY fast.

I'm Team Cap and here's why: When multiple governments get together to try to control another entity, problems ensue. The Avengers need to be able to continue to have autonomy and not be subjected to political whims.

    1. Oh my goodness, you really get into it, don't you?! I love it! :) I was just like: "Tony feel sad, must support Tony". Ha, ha!

I am pretty excited to see how they do with the Black Panther movie. I don't know anything about the character except for what I learned in Civil War.

I've seen previews for Doctor Strange & while I love Benedict, I'm not quite sure about that one. But we shall see, I guess.

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli (I like the new button, by the way!) &/or Liz.

My five this week are five Christmas gifts that I got for Sunshine.
  1.  Adidas pants.  I had more thing to get her & she mentioned at her gymnastics meeting that she wanted a pair of these.  I got online & picked her up a pair ending my Christmas shopping for her.
  2.  Paper lanterns.  They were on sale one day at The Walmart & I couldn't resist getting them for her to hang in her bedroom.

  3.  A wax warmer & melts.  She has her bedroom upstairs & we don't allow candle burning up there were it cannot be watched.  Plus, with the mess a teenage girl makes, something is bound to catch on fire.  Anywho, so I got her this warmer and some melts that she can use to make things smell all nice & stuff.  :)

  4.  A Pink sweatshirt & matching socks.  I …

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I got my Christmas cards all out last Friday & that people have already been receiving them!  Now, it's my turn to receive some cards to hang on the front door.  I love receiving them & looking at all the smiling faces & reading the fun "family letters" especially from my aunt, Nellie.  :)

I am thankful...that I got to have a nice evening with my mom & her boyfriend last night.  I had to drop off Sunshine's Christmas gift & pick up her pet carrier so I could take all three cats to the vet this morning so she fed me one of my favorite meals that I never get to have at home - tuna casserole.  & then when I got home, Jill was on her way over so I chatted with her, helped Sunshine with her outfit for tomorrow (she has to dress up as the gymnastics team has a meet this weekend) & then to bed to read & such.

I am thankful...for this coloring book that I got Trouble as part of her Christmas present.  I looked through it yes…

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli &/or April.

My five this week is ways to stay warm when it's frickin' freezin' in Central Wisconsin.

  1.  Drinking warm beverages - coffee, cocoa, tea.  Add some Rum Chata or Baileys for a lil extra warmth.

  2.  Set yourself on fire...or sit really close to a fire &/or space heater.

  3.  Take a long hot bath maybe enjoy your warm beverage as like Olaf is doing.

  4.  Bundle up like Randy does in A Christmas Story - "I can't put my arms down!"

  5.  Just stay in your nice warm bed snuggled up with your cats & a good book or Netflix.
