Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Musical Monday:  Paranoia by A Day to Remember.  Lately, it's been all about the rock music.  I mean, I always love me a good rockin' tune but lately with Rock USA in about a month, it's hitting hardcore & this song is one that I've liking to blare lately.

Weekend Update:

Friday - the start of "Date Weekend" with Paul.  Sunshine went with her mother earlier in the day so when I got home, we left right away.  We headed to Appleton to begin our adventure.  First stop, the hotel to drop off our bags & then to Stone Cellar for dinner.  I enjoyed some of their delicious root beer with a Mediterranean wrap, Paul had a flight of beer & a burger.

Then we got ourselves back to hotel, called up Uber & went out for some drinks at our favorite cocktail lounge.  I really need to quit drinking the rich, creamy martinis as I get stuffed up & I can only put down maybe one & a half before I get a stomachache.  But they are SO good!

Saturday - we were up & ready to hit the road to Green Bay.  We started off with breakfast at a lil cafe & it was delicious but my eyes were bigger than my stomach so I was only able to finish about half of it.  Then we went off to the zoo in Suamico.  I love going to zoos.  :)

Then we stopped at the Pro Shop at Lambeau where we got some pretty good clearance stuff - a sweater that was originally $95 that I got for $30 & then some Packer stocking caps that were $6 for Paul, his dad & my grandpa for Father's Day.  We then checked into our hotel, went swimming for a bit, got ready & headed out to meet some folks for dinner before heading off to see the Impractical Jokers at UW-Green Bay.

I got these tickets as part of Paul's birthday present.  The day they went on sale I had them bought five minutes after they opened so we had pretty nice seats - third row back right on the aisle.  I was pretty excited that Sal was on our side of the stage cuz I had a dream once that he was my boyfriend, so fate had it that he was right in front of me.  Tee hee!

The show was great.  At one point, I was shocked that I had any eye makeup on anymore cuz I was laughing so hard I was crying.  Just gonna put this out there - Murr was the creepiest in that segment.  Ha, ha!  After getting back to the hotel & posting the good pictures, I woke up to see that therealmurr had not only liked a couple of pics but commented on one.  I was pretty excited about that.  :)

Sunday -  we went to lunch at Titletown Brewery & then just drove around downtown Green Bay for a bit before going to a historical museum to waste some time.  Then we met up & picked up Sunshine to go home.  Date Weekend did end there though, Sunshine decided to go to a friend's house to stay the night so Paul rented The Hateful Eight to watch before Game of Thrones.  You can see my review of the flick here.

So, all in all, a pretty nice weekend.  :)

  1. Comedy acts are so fun!!! Your food looks super yummy and who doesn't love a brewery trip?! Sounds like you had a fantastic weekend!

    1. I love that brewery, it really is in a cellar. It's so cool. One of the beers on the husband's flight was a jalapeno beer & it was pretty good & would make an excellent chaser to a Bloody Mary. :)

  2. Comedy shows are so fun. Unless you are close and they pick on you, that makes me so nervous. In the back for the win!

    1. We've been upfront before & it's always fun. One show the comedian kept picking on my husband, it was fabulous. Tee hee!

  3. Breweries, a zoo, AND comedy?! Sounds like the perfect weekend! I love Impractical Jokers, they're hilarious, and Sal is my favorite! Happy to hear that they were just as great live. And SO COOL that The Real Murr liked/commented on your photos! That would have been a highlight for me too!

    1. I love all the guys, they are all funny but it was typically a tie between Sal & Q for me but I think that my dream is telling me that Sal should be my favorite. Ha, ha! So, if you get a chance to see them live, totally do it. It was a great show. :)

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli (I like the new button, by the way!) &/or Liz.

My five this week are five Christmas gifts that I got for Sunshine.
  1.  Adidas pants.  I had more thing to get her & she mentioned at her gymnastics meeting that she wanted a pair of these.  I got online & picked her up a pair ending my Christmas shopping for her.
  2.  Paper lanterns.  They were on sale one day at The Walmart & I couldn't resist getting them for her to hang in her bedroom.

  3.  A wax warmer & melts.  She has her bedroom upstairs & we don't allow candle burning up there were it cannot be watched.  Plus, with the mess a teenage girl makes, something is bound to catch on fire.  Anywho, so I got her this warmer and some melts that she can use to make things smell all nice & stuff.  :)

  4.  A Pink sweatshirt & matching socks.  I …

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I got my Christmas cards all out last Friday & that people have already been receiving them!  Now, it's my turn to receive some cards to hang on the front door.  I love receiving them & looking at all the smiling faces & reading the fun "family letters" especially from my aunt, Nellie.  :)

I am thankful...that I got to have a nice evening with my mom & her boyfriend last night.  I had to drop off Sunshine's Christmas gift & pick up her pet carrier so I could take all three cats to the vet this morning so she fed me one of my favorite meals that I never get to have at home - tuna casserole.  & then when I got home, Jill was on her way over so I chatted with her, helped Sunshine with her outfit for tomorrow (she has to dress up as the gymnastics team has a meet this weekend) & then to bed to read & such.

I am thankful...for this coloring book that I got Trouble as part of her Christmas present.  I looked through it yes…

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli &/or April.

My five this week is ways to stay warm when it's frickin' freezin' in Central Wisconsin.

  1.  Drinking warm beverages - coffee, cocoa, tea.  Add some Rum Chata or Baileys for a lil extra warmth.

  2.  Set yourself on fire...or sit really close to a fire &/or space heater.

  3.  Take a long hot bath maybe enjoy your warm beverage as like Olaf is doing.

  4.  Bundle up like Randy does in A Christmas Story - "I can't put my arms down!"

  5.  Just stay in your nice warm bed snuggled up with your cats & a good book or Netflix.
