It's Wednesday So That Means...

I've been kind of upset as the Wednesday linkups have died out so I was excited when I hopped on over to visit Erin this morning & found a new linkup to be apart of.  I love linkups as they really introduce you to some new folks & I'm always up for that!

This linkup is called Weekly Lessons & the hosts are Mattie and Lex.  So, if you wanna join in, hope on over to linkup!  :)

Mandie's Weekly Lessons:
1.  Teenagers suck...especially girls.  I've known this for some time but teenage girls are horrible lil creatures.  I don't know what is up with Sunshine lately but she's more Black Hole Sun than Sunshine lately.  Maybe it's because the start of school, I don't know but she has been just a bundle of frickin' joy.  Last night, she kept telling me that her father was "crazy/psycho"...he was not acting "crazy" or "psycho".  She was just in a feisty mood & did not want to listen.  So, after many times of her cal…

Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Musical Monday - Bang Bang by Green Day.  I've really been diggin' this song lately.  I've always liked Green Day, never a favorite but they've had some good tunes & this is one of them.  :)

Weekend Update -

Friday - I'm gonna start this off by saying that I was a terrible blogger & didn't get any pictures from this weekend.  Yea, I know, horrible.  Anywho, Friday after work I went to the local jewelry store to pick up my black onyx pendant that I won a couple of weeks ago.  I got myself a chain to go with it & also got my rings cleaned.  My wedding ring sparkles again!  Then went home to get ready for the eve.  We started things off with dinner with our friends, Ben & Christa, & then headed out to our friend, Jeremy & Gladys' for a fire & the Packer game.  No jokes, we had a TV outside on their patio to watch the game while we sat around the fire.  I tried to get pictures but they did not turn out.  :(

Saturday - I went wi…

#Fav7Films Times Two...

So, I'm totally stealing this posting idea from the lovely Erin over at TexErin-in-SydneyLand.  If you don't follow her, you totally should cuz, well, she's awesome.  :)

Anywho, she saw on Twitter #Fav7Films & decided to play along (x two).  Well, I loved the idea & I'm gonna see what I can do with my seven...which may end up being fourteen like Erin...& it will be.  Now, I just want to let you know off the bat, that my list is quite different & I tend to not favor movies that "the critics" tend to go for.

    14.  The Dark Knight - I always liked Batman growing up but when I saw Christian Bale as Batman, that was it for me, he is the one & only Batman in my eyes.  & Heath Ledger as The Joker, can you beat that?!  I think not!  Such a great, great movie.

    13.  Pet Sematary - okay, I'm thirty-five years old, I've read this book at least twice & this movie STILL scares the living crap outta me.  I mean, really.  Terrifies …

Tuesday Talk...

Here we are, we made it through Monday.  So, lets talk about something on this Tuesday.  If you wanna linkup, head on over to visit LizStephanie or any of the other hosts to do so.

I promised in yesterday's post that I would talk about Stranger Things.  With some prompting from my cousin & seeing many people talk about it here in the blogging world, I knew that I had to give it a shot.

The hubby was a little reluctant but I talked him into it & he was happy that I did.  We buzzed through the whole series in four nights...maybe three, I cannot remember.  All I know is that we were hooked after the first episode.

If you don't know what it's about, there is a tight group of four boys & one of them goes missing which leads to not only a new friend but crazy government stuff.

I thought it kind of had a Stephen King / Tales from the Darkside feel to it & with that, it was a win in my book.  I thought the acting was great, the story was amazing & all the 80…

Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Musical Monday - Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus.  I was playing my Poppin' playlist yesterday in the car with Sunshine & this song came one - we were both singing & playing Pokemon.  It was pretty fabulous.  Ha!

Weekend Update -

Friday - I took the day off & started it with a cup of coffee & then off for a ninety minute massage.  I love my monthly massages.  Then home to shower & head off to Appleton with Sunshine to do some school clothes shopping.  All was going well until I wouldn't purchase a $70 sweatshirt from Pink.  I was then "lame".  Yea.  After that the mood changed & we headed out shortly afterwards.  Once we got home, I was in bed with a headache for a bit.  She did eventually thank me for taking her shopping & told me that she was happy with what she got - a couple of tops, yoga pants & some unders.  Then Paul & I watched a couple of episodes of Stranger Things before heading off to bed.

Saturday - got up, got ready &a…

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "The USS Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a new ruthless enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test."

My thoughts:  I'm gonna start off by saying that I was never into any of the Star Trek movies or shows until these remakes were done.  Those blue eyes of Chris Pine's had me from the word "go".  Such a cute lil man.  :)

This was action packed, exciting & the scenery/costumes/makeup was awesome!  If I had the time, patience & ability, I would totally dress up like Jaylah for Halloween.  She was a strong, kick-ass women & she looked awesome at it.

Paul said that this one has been his favorite so far as it made more references to the old series, I would not know.  This one was good but I think that Into the Darkness was my favorite - hello Benedict Cumberbatch!
Star Trek:  Beyond's Grade: B

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "A titan of industry is sent to prison after she's caught insider trading. When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America's latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget."

My thoughts:  I love me some Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Bell & Peter Dinklage.  They are all amazingly funny & they did not disappoint in this movie.  I also love every time Ben Falcone makes an appearance in one of his wife's movies - she's always just givin' it to him.  Ha!

My favorite scene was the street fight scene.  It was hilarious, I was almost peeing.  Tee hee!

I would have to say that The Heat is still my favorite Melissa McCarthy film but this one was pretty funny as well & worth the watch.

The Boss' Grade: B

Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Musical Monday:  Piece of Me by Britney.  I am counting down until the release of her new album.  Yes, I'm one of those - a Britney fan - & I don't care who knows it!  I HEART BRITNEY, BITCHES!  :)

Weekend Update:

Friday - went after work with some of my co-workers & we scooped for gems at a local jewelry store.  Eight of us went over & out of the eight - two gems were scooped by Greg & by myself.  I ended up getting a black onyx!  I never win anything!  So, I was super excited & will be getting it set in a necklace.  Awhoo hoo!  Then off to run a few errands & then out to eat with Paul & one of his buddies before retiring for the evening in front of the TV.

Saturday - I got up early & took Magic in for her allergy shot.  Yes, she's a cat that has allergies.  She sneezes boogers everywhere when the shot wears off so about every six months, she's back in to the vet for her shot.  Then I came home & sat on my ass all afternoon wat…

$10 At Target...

Well, it's that time of the month, a time that gets me to our local Target (which is about a half hour away) to spend $10 on some stuff.  If you want to join in, you can linkup with LizCourtney or any of the other hosts.

My haul.

I've been searching for a new way to display the pictures on the fridge so I thought that some magnets on the back  of some cork board with cute lil push pins would be fun.  I found these fun shaped boards &  knew that I had to have them.  I don't  have them done or even started yet but hopefully in the next couple of days.

I needed some fun push pins & here is what I found for cheap.  I did find some other really cute ones but  they were out of my budget for this particular trip. These from The Dollar Spot will have to do.  :)

Grand total:  $10.54 Just a lil over...again.

Friday Five...

Why, hello...it's Friday.  Awhoo hoo!  So, would you like to join in & play some Friday Five action?  Well, you can, hit up either Ms. Karli or Ms. Liz & linkup!

My Friday Five is all about my week.  I've had a jam packed week & I think that I'm just gonna be totally random with it.  So, here we go:

    1.  I've been keeping a close eye on this guy & the rest of the swim team & the young ladies of the gymnastics team.  I've just had so much fun watching the Olympics.  I don't get too into the Winter Olympics but the Summer Olympics - yes, please!  :)

    2.  I'm still on the hunt for this cute lil bastard - Jigglypuff.  Back in the day, I had it as a keychain.  So adorable but I have yet to catch one while playing Pokemon Go.  Soon...soon it will be mine...oh yes, it will be mine.  Ha, ha!

    3.  Finishing up Half-Blood Prince.  I don't want to read the next chapter - "The Lightning-Struck Tower" cuz I know how it ends &a…

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I have friends & family that keep my social calendar full.  Without them, I would have no memories to cherish...yes, I got a lil sappy there but lately I've been thinking how lucky I am to have so many friends & family that want to spend time with me.  I love it & I really am thankful for them.

I am thankful...for morning thunderstorms especially ones that happen after I am safely in work.  Plus, my car needs a good washing to get all the bug guts off of it, so this storm should take care of that.  Awhoo hoo!  :)

I am thankful...that I am currently a level higher than Paul on Pokemon but now that he knows that, I'm sure that he's gonna be hittin' up some stops.  But for the timebeing, I'm beating him & that's what really counts...oh, & catching a Jigglypuff cuz I love Jigglypuff.  Ha!

I am thankful...for when my boss-lady is on vacation.  It's not that I don't like her cuz I do but I get to take it easy & work a…

Tuesday Talk...

So, I was bouncing around ideas for this week's Tuesday Talk & decided that since my face has been glued to the TV the last two night watching the Olympics, I should write about that.  So, here are some things that I have learned from the Olympics thus far:

    1.  It's table tennis NOT ping pong...didn't realize there was a difference.  Apparently, there is.  Sorry, my bad.  Looks the same to me.

    2.  Aly Raisman is unbelievable!  Everyone talks about Gabby & Simone but this girl ROCKED it on Sunday night on the floor.  Holy crap!  I cannot wait to watch more of her.

    3.  I LOVE SWIMMING!  I get so into it.  I'm on the edge of my seat.  I'm standing.  I'm cheering them on as if they can hear me & WILL move that much faster.  Oh, so much fun to watch!

    4.  Micheal Phelps is not only great at swimming, he's great at casting evil spells with his eyes.  So scary!  I wonder if he was listening to some Slipknot or DevilDriver on those big h…
