Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Musical Monday - Bang Bang by Green Day.  I've really been diggin' this song lately.  I've always liked Green Day, never a favorite but they've had some good tunes & this is one of them.  :)

    Weekend Update -

Friday - I'm gonna start this off by saying that I was a terrible blogger & didn't get any pictures from this weekend.  Yea, I know, horrible.  Anywho, Friday after work I went to the local jewelry store to pick up my black onyx pendant that I won a couple of weeks ago.  I got myself a chain to go with it & also got my rings cleaned.  My wedding ring sparkles again!  Then went home to get ready for the eve.  We started things off with dinner with our friends, Ben & Christa, & then headed out to our friend, Jeremy & Gladys' for a fire & the Packer game.  No jokes, we had a TV outside on their patio to watch the game while we sat around the fire.  I tried to get pictures but they did not turn out.  :(

Saturday - I went with Paul to one of his football drafts.  I wasn't really looking forward to it but sucked it up & went anyway.  I've never been to a live draft before & it was kinda fun...for a couple of rounds.  Towards the end, we were all just sort of over it & some wished they could have used the "auto pick" feature.  Ha!  But it was fun & got to talk Game of Thrones/Harry Potter/Twilight after the draft was completed.  :)

Sunday - this day started off on a sour note which kinda left me feeling "sour" all day long.  We had let Sunshine stay home while we were at the draft & she had two friends over.  Well, not only did they drink my Fizzy Moscato wine, they did so while hanging out on the roof.  So, needless to say, it's gonna be awhile before Sunshine is allowed to have friends over if we are not there.  I think that she understands that she made a mistake as I didn't say much to her yesterday as I was either hidden outside reading or down in the basement watching Deathly Hallows: Part One.  She finally got the nerve to come see me & asked if I was mad at her.  I told her that I was upset & disappointed because she's smarter than that & knows better.  I asked her who's idea it was & she said that it was hers but I told her that I didn't believe that.  I explained the predicament that she & her friends put Paul & I in & that she was not allowed to have anyone over for quite some time.  I told her that I don't want this to be the beginning of the same path her sister walked.  She told me that she will not be like Trouble & she knows that she made a mistake & will not repeat it.  She's fourteen, fourteen, too young to be pulling this stuff already...or is that just me thinking that?  I didn't do anything like that until I was a Sophomore & it was one shot of Jack Daniels...which I have never had since.  Yuck!

So, how was your weekend?

  1. Sounds like a good weekend, at least the beginning part! It's always nice to have sparkly rings again! :)

    1. No jokes, I was just admiring my sparkly ring again. Tee hee! They really cleaned it up all nice-like. :)

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli (I like the new button, by the way!) &/or Liz.

My five this week are five Christmas gifts that I got for Sunshine.
  1.  Adidas pants.  I had more thing to get her & she mentioned at her gymnastics meeting that she wanted a pair of these.  I got online & picked her up a pair ending my Christmas shopping for her.
  2.  Paper lanterns.  They were on sale one day at The Walmart & I couldn't resist getting them for her to hang in her bedroom.

  3.  A wax warmer & melts.  She has her bedroom upstairs & we don't allow candle burning up there were it cannot be watched.  Plus, with the mess a teenage girl makes, something is bound to catch on fire.  Anywho, so I got her this warmer and some melts that she can use to make things smell all nice & stuff.  :)

  4.  A Pink sweatshirt & matching socks.  I …

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I got my Christmas cards all out last Friday & that people have already been receiving them!  Now, it's my turn to receive some cards to hang on the front door.  I love receiving them & looking at all the smiling faces & reading the fun "family letters" especially from my aunt, Nellie.  :)

I am thankful...that I got to have a nice evening with my mom & her boyfriend last night.  I had to drop off Sunshine's Christmas gift & pick up her pet carrier so I could take all three cats to the vet this morning so she fed me one of my favorite meals that I never get to have at home - tuna casserole.  & then when I got home, Jill was on her way over so I chatted with her, helped Sunshine with her outfit for tomorrow (she has to dress up as the gymnastics team has a meet this weekend) & then to bed to read & such.

I am thankful...for this coloring book that I got Trouble as part of her Christmas present.  I looked through it yes…

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli &/or April.

My five this week is ways to stay warm when it's frickin' freezin' in Central Wisconsin.

  1.  Drinking warm beverages - coffee, cocoa, tea.  Add some Rum Chata or Baileys for a lil extra warmth.

  2.  Set yourself on fire...or sit really close to a fire &/or space heater.

  3.  Take a long hot bath maybe enjoy your warm beverage as like Olaf is doing.

  4.  Bundle up like Randy does in A Christmas Story - "I can't put my arms down!"

  5.  Just stay in your nice warm bed snuggled up with your cats & a good book or Netflix.
