The Blog-tember Challenge: Day 7…

I love these prompts & I thank you so much Bailey for doing these for the month.  If you would like to join the fun, head on over to Love Bailey Jean to linkup & such!

Today’s prompt:  five things that bring you joy.

1.  Family.  My family has always been pretty dang important to me & as I get older, I'm realizing that more & more.  I have a wonderful family that supports me & loves me & I love spending time with them especially my lil cousins, I love watching them grow.

2.  Friends.  I have many friends around me & some that I consider my family.  I mean, I have nieces & nephews who are not blood but that's the way I see them.  They are all important to me & I would do anything for them.  I even still call my uncle's ex-wife my "aunt", her husband my "uncle" & their son my "cousin".  That's what they are to me & that's it.  Plain & simple.

3.  Music.  First of all, I would have KILLED anyone that did that to one of my cassettes back in the day!  Tee hee!  I have always loved music.  I remember sitting in our den when I was younger listening to my parents' records specifically Led Zeppelin & Golden Earring.  Even now, just sitting down & listening to a record brings a smile to my face.  :)

4.  Books.  I love to read & the older I get, the more that's all I really want to do.  I have piles of physical books that I haven't read yet.  Books downloaded to my Kindle that I haven't read yet.  I have books everywhere & they are all fabulous & make me happy.  Sometimes when I'm feeling sad, I down down to my room in the basement & just look at my bookshelf full of books.  Tee hee!

5.  Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers & Green Bay Packers.  Sports make me happy...well, unless my team is sucking it up big time then I'm not so happy.  But my pride for my teams & my state run deep.  I love them all & when we win, it's always a good day.  :)

  1. Ahhhh. I LOVE your 5 things and could have written the same five. I almost wrote Baseball for one of my five. In fact I did and then I erased it and wrote something else. I was happy to see it on your list. Have a wonderful day. :)

    1. Well, girl, I think that we should be friends then! Ha! I'm gonna jump on over & check out your five & maybe your five would have been options for me. :)

  2. Oooh, I love reading too! What are some of your favorites from this summer?

    1. I was actually a total nerd all summer & read the Harry Potter series for the second time. I did read Harry Potter & the Cursed Child & if you're a HP fan, it's worth the read. It's a real quick easy read. :)

  3. I think if you changed #5 to my fur babies, we'd have the same list :)

    1. Oh yea, fur babies. How could I have forgotten my fur babies?!?!

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli (I like the new button, by the way!) &/or Liz.

My five this week are five Christmas gifts that I got for Sunshine.
  1.  Adidas pants.  I had more thing to get her & she mentioned at her gymnastics meeting that she wanted a pair of these.  I got online & picked her up a pair ending my Christmas shopping for her.
  2.  Paper lanterns.  They were on sale one day at The Walmart & I couldn't resist getting them for her to hang in her bedroom.

  3.  A wax warmer & melts.  She has her bedroom upstairs & we don't allow candle burning up there were it cannot be watched.  Plus, with the mess a teenage girl makes, something is bound to catch on fire.  Anywho, so I got her this warmer and some melts that she can use to make things smell all nice & stuff.  :)

  4.  A Pink sweatshirt & matching socks.  I …

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I got my Christmas cards all out last Friday & that people have already been receiving them!  Now, it's my turn to receive some cards to hang on the front door.  I love receiving them & looking at all the smiling faces & reading the fun "family letters" especially from my aunt, Nellie.  :)

I am thankful...that I got to have a nice evening with my mom & her boyfriend last night.  I had to drop off Sunshine's Christmas gift & pick up her pet carrier so I could take all three cats to the vet this morning so she fed me one of my favorite meals that I never get to have at home - tuna casserole.  & then when I got home, Jill was on her way over so I chatted with her, helped Sunshine with her outfit for tomorrow (she has to dress up as the gymnastics team has a meet this weekend) & then to bed to read & such.

I am thankful...for this coloring book that I got Trouble as part of her Christmas present.  I looked through it yes…

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli &/or April.

My five this week is ways to stay warm when it's frickin' freezin' in Central Wisconsin.

  1.  Drinking warm beverages - coffee, cocoa, tea.  Add some Rum Chata or Baileys for a lil extra warmth.

  2.  Set yourself on fire...or sit really close to a fire &/or space heater.

  3.  Take a long hot bath maybe enjoy your warm beverage as like Olaf is doing.

  4.  Bundle up like Randy does in A Christmas Story - "I can't put my arms down!"

  5.  Just stay in your nice warm bed snuggled up with your cats & a good book or Netflix.
