It's Wednesday So That Means...

Mandie's Weekly Lessons:     1.  Karma Doesn't Act Quick Enough.  I am having a pretty rough morning & it took some talking off the ledge by my Southern Bestie, Ashley, not to go ape-shit on Trouble & Sunshine's mother.  Long story, short - she is doing the same thing to Sunshine as she did to Trouble & what she did was break Trouble.  She's breaking Sunshine & there is nothing more that I want to do right now then to drive over two hours to beat the damn woman!  She makes me so angry especially when her actions cause these girls to hurt & because of that hurt, lash out.  Ugh!!!!
    2.  I Don't Like Gold...Unless It Has To Do With Harry Potter.  So, I don't like gold jewelry, never have.  I even told Paul before we got engaged that if he proposed to me with a gold ring, I would throw it back at him.  All my jewelry is silver...except for two new necklaces that I bought over the weekend at Hot Topic.  They had buy two, get one free on HP stu…

Musical Monday/Weekend Update...

Musical Monday - Burning Man by Spank Rock.  I've been in a hip hop mood lately & listening the Hell outta my Hip Hoppin' playlist on Spotify & here is one of my favorite tunes.  It's just so much fun, I think.

Weekend Update:  Extended Edition -

Wednesday - I had the day off of work to do my baking & get my hair did.  I was pretty much busy from the moment I got outta bed until about 8:00 that night but all the treats went over well & I feel a bunch lighter from my haircut.

Thursday - we started the Thanksgiving holiday off with my in-laws.  We had a delicious meal & delightful convo followed by pictures.

Then we headed out to my uncle's place for dinner.  It was Trouble's first time seeing most of my family in a year & she did well as did everyone else.  We had a great time especially with some entertainment brought to us by my cousin, "Z".  I, unfortunately, didn't get any pictures from over there but believe me, it was a …

Tuesday Talk...

You wanna talk about something today?  Well, linkup with some fabulous girls for some Tuesday Talk - JessicaLizStephanie or any of the other hosts.  :)

Today, with Thanksgiving coming, I'm gonna make a list of what I am thankful for.  I know that I typically do that every Thursday but that's really what I've been thankful during that week, this is will be what I am always thankful for.  A lil different, right?

I am thankful...

...for my family.  I have such a great family - my mom, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, husband, stepdaughters, etc.  I don't know where I would be without any of them in my life.

...for my friends.  I am never bored with my friends.  I always say that it's quality, not quantity but I do have a a lot of pretty fabulous friends & I am so thankful for them & the fun times with them.

...my fur-babies - Chandler, Magic & Tyrion.  These three cats are as different as different can be.  Chandler is my cranky…

Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Musical Monday - Move by Luke Bryan.  Who doesn't want a lil Luke Bryan on their Monday?!

Weekend Update -

Friday:  nothing real exciting.  I got done with work, did a lil shopping & got my first "red cup" of the season.

When I got home, Paul & I went out for a late supper & then surprised one of my co-workers.  Her & her husband are on a bowling league & I saw their car still at the alley on our way home so we stopped to play a couple of games after they were done with league.  I was only able to play two games before my hip became an issue.  :(

Saturday:  I got up, got ready & headed out to my grandparents' with my mom to go through pictures & maybe organize them.  Well, we went through them but we did not put them in photo albums like we originally planned.  I did find this really sweet picture of my uncle & I though.

When I finally got home, Paul & I head to the theater to see Fantastic Beasts.  I was sporting my Harry Potter…

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "The year is 1926 and Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident...were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt's fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds."

My summary:  Lil odd wizard comes into scary NYC with a briefcase full of "fantastic beasts" & some of said beasts get out & cause some problems along with another unseen force.  Ohhhhh...

Let me start with saying how much I love Eddie Redmayne.  I mean, just look at him, isn't he adorable?!  I just wanna put him in my pocket & keep him FOREVER!  I think that he's a wonderful actor & he played the part of Newt beautifully.  He was amazing.
I loved the story & as a Harry Potter fan, I d…

$10 At Target...

One of my favorite linkups because, well, I get to go to Target & buy some goodies from the Dollar Spot - I LOVE THE DOLLAR SPOT!!!!  Anywho, if you would like to join the fun hit up LizCourtney or any of the other hosts.  :)

My haul.

I love fun lil gift tags so I could not  resist these especially when they were only a dollar!

I have not decided if this will go to  my Secret Santa girl or if I shall be keeping it for myself.

Same with these, I thought about giving them to my Secret Santa gal but they are just too damn cute!

The damage - $9.50. I think that I did pretty dang good!  :)

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that next week I'm only working two days!  Awhoo hoo!  I have the day off on Wednesday to not only prep for Thanksgiving (I'm making mini pumpkin pies & mini apple pies) but I'm going in to get my hair did.  I just decided last night what I'm going with & now, I cannot wait to get it done!  Yippee!

I am thankful...that tonight right after work, it's time for my monthly massage.  My gal & I talked last time about what her favorite massage was & she said it was the way she did hot stone massages while in massage school.  She explained it to me & I told her that I would to try that way the next time I came in so I'm hopeful that we'll be doing that tonight.

I am thankful...that I am not a teenager/young adult in this world nowadays.  I know that I've touched on it before but being in the shoes of my stepdaughters' is not one I would do if you would pay me a million dollars.  I say bring back the 90's when there was…

I'm not quite sure what to talk about today but I see that everyone is posting about delicious treats & they are making me want to have some sweets real bad.  Ha, ha!  I think that I'm gonna hit up my Bloggin' board on Pinterest...

    1.  I like both tea & coffee but I think that I probably drink more coffee than tea.
    2.  I like glossy.  That shine adds a certain bonus.
    3.  Sweet or salty...hmmm, I think that I'll go with salty.
    4.  Spotify, I like to listen to a particular playlist when reading.  Right now, it's my The Walking Dead playlist as I read the graphic novels.
    5.  I like afternoons cuz I'm awake by then & not tired & counting down until I can go to bed.  I really like to sleep.  Ha!
    6.  Pen, all the way.
    7.  I'm in introvert, I'd much rather just han…

Musical Monday/Weekend Update...

Musical Monday - I Got the Keys by DJ Khaled with Jay-Z & Future.  I heard this at the Packer game last weekend & I cannot stop listening to it.

Weekend Update -

Friday:  we all went out to dinner to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday.  It was a nice dinner & I think that he was pretty happy with his gift:  a cordless drill & some new work gloves.

Paul, Sunshine & I then went home & just relaxed for the evening.  It was a good night.
Saturday:  I slept in, then got ready & did the grocery shopping & such.  Paul took Sunshine to a friend's house for the evening so we went out to the casino to gamble a lil bit (we both won) & then we had dinner & ventured off to the movie theater to see Doctor Strange (you can read my review here).
Sunday:  slept in a bit & woke up to Paul having most of the daily chores done or started, so I made some French bread to go with the beef stew he had started, did a couple of other miscellaneous things,…

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  "Marvel's "Doctor Strange" follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City's Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilising a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

My summary:  stuck-up surgeon crashes car, goes on a journey to fix his broken hands just to find himself & a bald lady.  Ha!

My thoughts:  the husband made me see it in 3D & I don't typically like 3D & this movie reminded me why I don't like it cuz I ended being nauseous by the end of the movie with all the twisting & turning of things.  At some points, I had to close my eyes.
As for the story, I'm a Marvel geek & I love all the Marvel movies but th…

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I already have my Christmas cards ordered & sitting at the house ready to address.  I like to get them mailed out the day after Thanksgiving cuz, to me, that is the start of the Christmas season & I like to be one of the first cards people receive so they can enjoy our smiling faces longer.  Tee hee!

I am thankful...that Sunshine is already enjoying her time on the high school gymnastics team.  She left the YMCA & she was nervous & wondering if she made the right decision, she did.  She is only a Freshmen & she's on varsity for floor & beam.  I am so proud & excited for her & I cannot wait to see how she grows.  I kinda feel like she was held back a little bit with the Y.

I am thankful...I have plans to have supper with my mama tonight.  It seems like a long time since I've seen her & I think that we're gonna hit up the new Panera Bread that was just put in a town about a half hour away.  I love Panera!  Eeek!  :)

Mandie's Weekly Lessons:

    1.  Squirrels Should Be Football Players.  While at the Packer game on Sunday, this lil squirrel kept coming on the field & let me tell ya, he was the MVP of the game.  He got open in the endzone but Aaron wasn't looking like he should.  It was quite something.  I really think that he should be signed asap!

2.  Being Able To Vote Makes Me Feel Cool.  When you walk out of that polling place with your "I Voted" sticker proudly displayed, you puff your chest a lil more & start singing "I'm Proud to Be An American" in your head.  I did my part to hopefully improve this wonderful nation.  Only time will tell & I am excited to see what the future holds.  I won't say who I voted for but we'll just say that if things don't get better in this country, I'm moving into the spare room …

Tuesday Talk...

You wanna talk about something today?  Well, linkup with some fabulous girls for some Tuesday Talk - JessicaLizStephanie or any of the other hosts.  :)

Today, since I didn't get a chance yesterday, I'm gonna talk about my weekend.  It was a pretty fabulous one & just what I needed.

Friday - I did the grocery shopping right after work & then headed out for a late dinner with Paul & our friends, Ben & Christa.  I got to enjoy me some crab cakes.  Yummy!  Then home to watch a couple episodes of American Horror Story before bed.

Saturday - got the car all ready to go for a travelin' weekend:  oil change, gas & washed.  Then headed to Appleton with Jill for some Christmas shopping.  I got a bit done but I still have some to go.  But we had a good ol' time at Hobby Lobby.

Sunday - I started my day off with finishing another book in The Walking Dead series & saw one of the many parts I could wait to see:

Then I got my butt ready to head to Green Bay fo…

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli &/or Liz.  Karli, for some reason, your button isn't working so I couldn't add it.  :(
My five this week are "Things You Need To Do At A Packer Game".  My friend, Christa, sent me a message last night inviting me to go to the Packer game this weekend against the Colts.  I am SO excited!  It's supposed to be beautiful weather for a late afternoon football game at Lambeau.  :)

  1.  First & foremost, wear the SHIT outta my Packer attire.  I am going shopping tomorrow & I think that I'm gonna buy myself a new sweatshirt because I only have zip-ups & I think that I need an over the head one.  We'll see...but it's not like I won't have enough attire to choose from.

  2.  Just take in the wonder that is Lambeau Field.  It never gets old seeing the stadium.  It really doesn't.  W…

Fall Scarf Exchange...

When my girl, Elizabeth, posted that she was going to be co-hosting another scarf exchange this year.  I was in!  I love these things!  I've said it before & I'll say it again, they are a great way to get/give some goodies & meet some new great people.

I got paired up with Casey over at Faith, Football & Fairy Tales.  So, jump on over to her blog & check out what I got her!  :)

I requested a fun, colorful scarf because I really didn't have much like that.  I have a drawer full of scarves & I didn't have anything real flashy.  Well, Casey came through & I love what she picked out!

First of all, can we take  a moment & just look at how cute this is?  I almost didn't want to rip into it!

Here she is!  My new beautifully colorful scarf! It's so much fun.  I love it!

On top of that, some coffee from a local coffee shop in Casey's area.  I even went to buy a reuseable K-Cup so I can enjoy these.

My haul.

& me just sportin' my …

Mandie's Weekly Lessons:
    1.  Almonds Are Better Than Pecans.  I'm currently enjoying my newest Trail Mix - candy corn, pecans, peanuts, crasins & Cinnamon Chex & I've come to the conclusion that I prefer almonds in my Trail Mix over pecans.  Pecans are good but not as good as almonds.
    2.  The Girls' Mom Is A Real Bitch.  If you're new around these parts, I have two stepdaughters - Trouble (18) & Sunshine (15).  Their mother has not been a stable fixture in their lives & she has put them both through Hell especially Trouble.  There were times that I held Trouble on the kitchen floor while she cried about her mother.  Now, on Monday, I had to do the same thing Sunshine.  Their mother is now treating Sunshine like she did Trouble.  I am beyond pissed.  She says horrible things about me but I am the one that is raising her…

Currently...

Another month starting with another Currently linkup - awhoo hoo!  So, what does Anne have going on this month?  Well, come along & check it out!  :)

Discovering...that I it's kinda fun to read comic books.  I just finished up Volume Two of The Walking Dead comic books last night & they are such a quick, easy, fun read.  I am really enjoying them.  :)

Celebrating...nothing really.  Now, that all the Halloween fun is done just waiting for Thanksgiving.

Starting...the itchy stage of my newest tattoo...okay, so it really a couple days ago but it can stop any time now.  I think that this stage is the worst part of getting a tattoo.

Wearing...a cami & cardigan.  It has been unseasonably warm here in Wisconsin so I haven't been able to sport any of my sweaters yet & I'm getting a little upset about that.  I know that I'll have plenty of time but right now, I just wanna wear them.

Googling...last night I had to Google how many comic books were in The Walking Dead s…
