Tuesday Talk...

You wanna talk about something today?  Well, linkup with some fabulous girls for some
Tuesday Talk - Jessica or any of the other hosts.  :)

Today, since I was off of work yesterday, I'm gonna talk about my birthday weekend.

Friday - Sunshine had an overnight gymnastics competition so the hubby & I went out to dinner at one of our favorite places - PJ's.  It was SO yummy!  I had a couple of drinks at the bar before supper & then we had a pretzel fondue appetizer.  & then I got the fish fry.  After that, we went to Sunset Point Winery for a drink & then home to relax.

Saturday - I slept in a bit, enjoyed some coffee from bed, got ready & my hubby took me out to lunch & to see Split (my review is here).  I've been counting down to see that movie so I was SO excited to go see it.  Then we met up with some friends for a couple of drinks & then we  hung out at home to watch Don't Breathe (my review for that one could be read here).

Sunday - we didn't do much of anything but chores around the house & such.  My grandfather made me a new bookshelf so I spent most of day figuring out my shelves & watching Jessica Jones before watching the first half of the SuperBowl - to see the commercials & Lady Gaga.  Then it was off to shower, paint the nails, watch more Jessica Jones & read...however, I got a message that the Patriots came back & the game was in overtime.  What the heck?!  I went to watch it until they scored & relocated to my bed.  Ha!

Monday - I took Sunshine to school & then just hung out in bed playing on my Kindle/phone with a cup of coffee.  Then I ate some lunch while watching Jessica Jones before heading off to a massage.  After that I went to the local cheese factory & then hung out with my mom & boyfriend for supper, then home for more TV & such.

So, all in all, a good birthday weekend.  :)

  1. Sounds like a great birthday weekend! And, I love that your grandfather made your bookshelves. So sweet.
    Happy belated birthday, my friend!!

    1. Thank you for the birthday wishes. :)

My grandpa is pretty dang great. Some of my favorite things, held by something my favorite person made - I love it.

  2. Okay, so first of all I'm highly disappointed that there isn't a picture of the pretzel fondue! Ha :). That sounds delish!

I love the bookshelves that your grandpa built! How awesome are those? What an awesome gift :).

And....I'm sooooooooooo jealous you went to the cheese factory!! I want to go!

    1. Oh my gosh, it was gone WAY too fast to get a picture of. It was SO dang good, let me tell you! Ha!

When I went to the cheese factory, I bought butter, Parmesan, Asiago, Cheddar & Baby Swiss. Yummy!

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli (I like the new button, by the way!) &/or Liz.

My five this week are five Christmas gifts that I got for Sunshine.
  1.  Adidas pants.  I had more thing to get her & she mentioned at her gymnastics meeting that she wanted a pair of these.  I got online & picked her up a pair ending my Christmas shopping for her.
  2.  Paper lanterns.  They were on sale one day at The Walmart & I couldn't resist getting them for her to hang in her bedroom.

  3.  A wax warmer & melts.  She has her bedroom upstairs & we don't allow candle burning up there were it cannot be watched.  Plus, with the mess a teenage girl makes, something is bound to catch on fire.  Anywho, so I got her this warmer and some melts that she can use to make things smell all nice & stuff.  :)

  4.  A Pink sweatshirt & matching socks.  I …

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I got my Christmas cards all out last Friday & that people have already been receiving them!  Now, it's my turn to receive some cards to hang on the front door.  I love receiving them & looking at all the smiling faces & reading the fun "family letters" especially from my aunt, Nellie.  :)

I am thankful...that I got to have a nice evening with my mom & her boyfriend last night.  I had to drop off Sunshine's Christmas gift & pick up her pet carrier so I could take all three cats to the vet this morning so she fed me one of my favorite meals that I never get to have at home - tuna casserole.  & then when I got home, Jill was on her way over so I chatted with her, helped Sunshine with her outfit for tomorrow (she has to dress up as the gymnastics team has a meet this weekend) & then to bed to read & such.

I am thankful...for this coloring book that I got Trouble as part of her Christmas present.  I looked through it yes…

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli &/or April.

My five this week is ways to stay warm when it's frickin' freezin' in Central Wisconsin.

  1.  Drinking warm beverages - coffee, cocoa, tea.  Add some Rum Chata or Baileys for a lil extra warmth.

  2.  Set yourself on fire...or sit really close to a fire &/or space heater.

  3.  Take a long hot bath maybe enjoy your warm beverage as like Olaf is doing.

  4.  Bundle up like Randy does in A Christmas Story - "I can't put my arms down!"

  5.  Just stay in your nice warm bed snuggled up with your cats & a good book or Netflix.
