Currently...

Another month starting with another Currently linkup - awhoo hoo!  So, what does Anne have going on this month?  Well, come along & check it out!  :)

Baking...nothing.  I'm not much of a baker.  Everything has to be perfectly measured & such & I don't like that, I like to just pour crap in & see what happens...that's why I like cooking more than baking.  :)

Listening...I'm going hip-hop today.  I needed a lil something fun to listen to.  Currently, Spotify is playing Funky Cold Medina.  Ha, ha!

Loving...that today we get outta work early for a luncheon/happy hour for Administrative Professionals Day.  We've been working with a skeleton crew here & we all could just a bottle glass of wine.

Planting...nothing because I kill everything.  No jokes.  I have a black thumb.  I, however, wanted to try to plant some lil flowers in some pots that the girls & I made many moons ago.

Remembering...all the fun lil projects that the girls & I did together - we painted flower pots, made refrigerator magnets, tons of canvas paintings, etc.  & now, Trouble is gonna be nineteen on Saturday & doing whatever she does (which isn't much but that's a different story) & Sunshine is at the "I-Either-Wanna-Hang-Out-With-My-Friends-Or-Stay-In-My-Room" phase.

  1. I'm not much of a fan of baking for exactly the reason you mentioned. It's so exact! I do like baking muffins though since they are so convenient and we all move them! Hope you had a great lunch/happy hour! Happy Administrative Professionals Day! I think I have a black thumb as well. After seeing some other bloggers posts today, I think I may try succulents! Thanks for linking up!

    1. Ohhh, I do like making muffins, they are so delicious. I also do like to get my bread maker out in the winter when we have our "Souper Sundays" cuz there is nothing better than freshly baked bread. Yummy!

  2. Ha, that's actually why I love baking much more than cooking :) Yay for getting out of work early - and even better if you combined that with some wine for sure...

    1. You like the exact stuff, huh? My husband is like that when he's cooking...which surprises me that he doesn't bake cuz I'm sure that he would love the exactness of everything. :)

  3. That's great you got out a bit early for a luncheon! How nice. I love being crafty with my nieces and nephew; hopefully they'll enjoy it for awhile!

    1. I loved being crafty with the girls. We actually have the hallway going upstairs covered in paintings we've done or other people have done with us. I love it. :)

  4. I am soooo behind on blog reading, it feels like it's been a lifetime since I stopped by your blog. Sooo I apologize for that! ;) I feel you on liking cooking more than baking. But now I'm reading what everyone else is baking and it kinda' has me in the mood to do so haha.

  5. I'm not really a cook or a baker, but baking is sometimes easier for me because of the exact measurement thing!

    1. That's what I'm hearing a lot of - you either measure or you don't & that decides if you're a cook or baker, that's for sure. :)

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli (I like the new button, by the way!) &/or Liz.

My five this week are five Christmas gifts that I got for Sunshine.
  1.  Adidas pants.  I had more thing to get her & she mentioned at her gymnastics meeting that she wanted a pair of these.  I got online & picked her up a pair ending my Christmas shopping for her.
  2.  Paper lanterns.  They were on sale one day at The Walmart & I couldn't resist getting them for her to hang in her bedroom.

  3.  A wax warmer & melts.  She has her bedroom upstairs & we don't allow candle burning up there were it cannot be watched.  Plus, with the mess a teenage girl makes, something is bound to catch on fire.  Anywho, so I got her this warmer and some melts that she can use to make things smell all nice & stuff.  :)

  4.  A Pink sweatshirt & matching socks.  I …

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that I got my Christmas cards all out last Friday & that people have already been receiving them!  Now, it's my turn to receive some cards to hang on the front door.  I love receiving them & looking at all the smiling faces & reading the fun "family letters" especially from my aunt, Nellie.  :)

I am thankful...that I got to have a nice evening with my mom & her boyfriend last night.  I had to drop off Sunshine's Christmas gift & pick up her pet carrier so I could take all three cats to the vet this morning so she fed me one of my favorite meals that I never get to have at home - tuna casserole.  & then when I got home, Jill was on her way over so I chatted with her, helped Sunshine with her outfit for tomorrow (she has to dress up as the gymnastics team has a meet this weekend) & then to bed to read & such.

I am thankful...for this coloring book that I got Trouble as part of her Christmas present.  I looked through it yes…

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over to Karli &/or April.

My five this week is ways to stay warm when it's frickin' freezin' in Central Wisconsin.

  1.  Drinking warm beverages - coffee, cocoa, tea.  Add some Rum Chata or Baileys for a lil extra warmth.

  2.  Set yourself on fire...or sit really close to a fire &/or space heater.

  3.  Take a long hot bath maybe enjoy your warm beverage as like Olaf is doing.

  4.  Bundle up like Randy does in A Christmas Story - "I can't put my arms down!"

  5.  Just stay in your nice warm bed snuggled up with your cats & a good book or Netflix.
