My Thoughts On...

Goodread's Summary:  "What more can a mystery addict desire than a much-loathed murder victim found aboard the luxurious Orient Express with multiple stab wounds, thirteen likely suspects, an incomparably brilliant detective in Hercule Poirot, and the most ingenious crime ever conceived?"

IMDB's Summary:  "When a murder occurs on the train he's travelling on, celebrated detective Hercule Poirot is recruited to solve the case."

My Summary:  "A bunch of people stuck on a train with a dead body.  A good ol' who-dun-it?"

I finished the book yesterday afternoon & watched the movie right afterwards so the book was fresh on my mind.

I saw the movie preview while attending one of the Harry Potter films on a Wizarding Wednesday & just knew that I needed to see the movie but only after reading the book.  I remember reading And Then There Were None when I was a Freshman in high school & really enjoyed it so I figured that I would enjoy …

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...McDonald's & their delicious food.  I know, I know, it's horrible for you but doesn't make it any less delicious.

I am thankful...that Sunshine has been trying new foods.  She was living on Ramen & Velvetta Mac & Cheese.  I wanted her to stop eating the Ramen all the time cuz I was afraid that she would get cancer/scurvy.

I am thankful...that I think that I may cancel my physical therapy scheduled for tonight.  I am not feeling well & I just really want to go home & rest.

I am thankful...that tomorrow, I am going out to dinner with some friends from high school.  It's always nice to catch up with them...unfortunately, one of the gals couldn't make it so it's just gonna be three of us.

It's Wednesday So That Means...

So, back in the day, there was a linkup about weekly lessons.  I really liked it but since it has crumbled & the linkup is no more.  :(  I really liked doing it so I'm going to continue doing it, join me!
I've learned that...nothing helps with a bad mood better than cheese.  Mmmm, cheese.
I've learned that...the Sweet Apple candle from Walmart smells amazing!
I've learned that...even though I don't win the family football fantasy league, I sill kinda do cuz I still get some good food.
I've learned that...even though I can tell my girls to be calm & not act irrationally, I still need to be talked down by my Southern Bestie.
I've learned that...old hip hop music is good for the soul, it makes me smile.

Musical Monday / Weekend Update...

Musical Monday:  Roots by Imagine Dragons.

  Weekend Update:

Friday:  the hubby & I went to try a new place called Muse.  I had a delicious cocktail that tasted like a smore but, sadly, I deleted the picture of it.  *sigh*  I had a yummy steak & smashed potatoes.  All was really good.  Then we headed home for some cheese & games with our friends, Ben & Christa.  A good night.

Saturday:  since Sunshine was outta town for most of the day for a gymnastics meet, Paul & I decided to hit up some wineries & it was so nice.  We went to Rushford Meadery & Winery, Vines & Rushes Winery & Lunch Creek Vineyard & Winery.  After all the samples & then glasses bought, I probably drank six glasses of wine/cider.  So, needless to say, I was a bit drunk & did a lil sleeping on the way home & then collapsed into bed.

Sunday:  we just hung out, doing chores & watching football.  I made this taco bake for late lunch / early dinner.  It…

Five Questions...

I totally stole this from April at Smidge of This & you can read hers here.  :)

  1.  Where do you live?  Good ol' Central Wisconsin.  I love Wisconsin so much that my most recent tattoo is of the state on my arm.

  2.  If married, how long & where did you & your spouse meet?  I've been married to my husband, Paul, for four years...I really had to recount because I cannot believe that we've been married that long.  Wow.  Anywho, we originally met as he was a client of ours WAY back & I had a lil crush on him then.  But he lived next door to some mutual friends that eventually got me to meet him in May of 2010.

  3.  If you have any kids, how many & how old?  We do not have any children together but he had two girls from his previous marriage which have been primarily almost solely with us.  We have Kaylee aka Trouble, who is 19, & Regan aka Sunshine, who is 16.  Sunshine is on the left, Trouble is on the right.

  4.  Favorite trip you've ever taken.…

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...that one of my co-workers will be in & I don't have to cover the front desk.

I am thankful...that my 2017 photo album came in yesterday.  I already looked at it three times.

I am thankful...that Trouble is still at her job & continues to enjoy it.

I am thankful...for workdays that I get a is not one of those days.  :\

I am thankful...for my "Food Drawer" here at work or else I would starve.

What are some things that you are thankful for?

My Thoughts On...

Goodreads' summary:  "James Patterson's ZOO was just the beginning. The planet is still under violent siege by ferocious animals. Humans are their desperate prey. Except some humans are evolving, mutating into a savage species that could save civilization-or end it."

My summary:  "what, the animals are still going crazy & attacking people?!"

I loved the first Zoo book.  I thought it was amazing & whipped through it SO fast.  I actually consider it one of my favorite James Patterson books & I've read a lot of his books.  This one was good but not as good as the first & it leaves it open for another one.  So, I am anxious to see if JP plans to make a series out of this

It was another quick, easy read & it being a Bookshot, it was even quicker & easier.  So, right up my alley.  :)

My ratting for Zoo 2:

My Thoughts On...

Goodreads summary:  "Sixteen-year-old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett’s son, Davis."

My summary:  "an already traumatized teenage girl tries to solve the mystery of a friend's weird father who leaves all his money to a lizard."

First, let me say that I love John Green & I have enjoyed all of his books especially Looking for Alaska, that was my favorite.  You probably thought I would say The Fault in Our Stars, didn't you?  Ha!

While I enjoyed this book, I feel that his others were better.  His other books seemed to have flowed better than this one.

Have you read this book?  Have you read his others?  How did you like it?  Let me know.

My rating for Turtles All the Way Down:

It's Wednesday So That Means...

So, back in the day, there was a linkup about weekly lessons.  I really liked it but since it has crumbled & the linkup is no more.  :(  I really liked doing it so I'm going to continue doing it, join me!
I've learned...that Bearpaw boots are the best things ever!  I got them about a month ago because it was just easier after my surgery to put boots like this on than other shoes.  They were a lil more than what I like to spend on shoes but totally worth it, I wear them all the time.  :)

I've learned...that even though I have good intentions of posting "My Thoughts" posts on movies & books I watch/read, I still don't always do them.  I really need to though.

I've learned...that when things are slow at work, it really makes the days drag & that really, really sucks.  I mean, I've always known that but forgot was it was like to not have much to do.  However, it does give me time to blog & read blogs, so that's good.  :)

I've learned..…

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over toApril to do so.  :)

My five this week are just some random thoughts.

  1.  My stepdaughters.  Trouble (the one on the right) who is now nineteen has asked me to adopt her.  While it's been mentioned before in the past, I thought it would be passing thing especially with her but she continues to talk about it with me, her dad & she even told her mom that she's doing it & that it will be done soon.  I told her that I would do it, I even spoke to Paul about it the other night & he doesn't care either way, if that's what will make her feel good & I want to do it, he's supports us.  As for Sunshine, Trouble says that she wants the same thing as well but Sunshine has not talked about it Paul or I, I've seen texts between the girls about it but that's it.  Also, Sunshine is still a minor & the ad…

Thankful Thursday...

I am thankful...for having my final post-op yesterday.

I am thankful...that the hubby & I are most likely going back to Vegas in April.

I am thankful...that Trouble is seriously thinking about having me adopt her.

I am thankful...that today is Thursday, I thought yesterday was Thursday.  :\

What are some things that YOU are thankful for?

Friday Five...

Why, hello, everyone.  'Tis that day of the week when we all pick five things to talk about.  So, if you would like to linkup you can head on over toApril to do so.  :)

My five this week are my top five songs from 2017 according to Spotify:

  5.  Do Something Crazy by Outasight.  I don't know how I found this song but such a fun, fun song.  I actually suggested it to my friend who's a cheer & stunt coach.

  4.  I'm Better by Missy Elliott.  Ah, Missy, when will you be releasing your next album.  I need more of you in my life, girl!

  3.  Come Down by Anderson.Paak.  One of the best things about the Marvel shows on Netflix - Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Ironfist, The Defenders & The Punisher - the music!  Like, seriously, they have awesome soundtracks & I heard this one on Ironfist & fell in love instantly.

  2.  Hang N' Bang by Vince Staples.  This was another song found on Ironfist.  There were a couple of "workout" montages with good …

My Thoughts On...

IMDB's summary:  fueled by his restored faith in humanity & inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy."

My summary:  freaks of nature & one rich guy decide to save the world by joining forces...I think that's pretty spot-on, right?  Ha!

If you've been around these parts, you know that I'm a Marvel girl.  However, I always liked Batman until it was announced that Ben Affleck would be playing him.  Now, I don't have anything against Ben, I like him as much as the next person but going from Christian Bale to Ben Affleck didn't seem right.  That being said, I didn't watch Superman or Batman vs. Superman until after I saw Wonder Woman.

I still don't like Ben as Batman & I hear that they are in talks with Jeffrey Dean Morgan to take over that role & I would be alright with that.

Anywho, on to what I thought about the movie.  It was entertaining …

What I Read In 2017...

I always love to do some lil recaps at the end of the year & my I cannot remember what my goal was for the year with my reading but I think that I did pretty well:

1.  Uganda Be Kidding Me by Chelsea Handler I love her!  She makes me happy with all her craziness.

2.  The Walking Dead:  Book Nine Now, I'll consider these half of a book because they are actually a compilation of the comic books.

3.  Grave Surprise by Charlaine Harris Since I really liked her Sookie Stackhouse series, I figured it was a good idea to read this series & this is the second book of the series.

4.  Four by Veronica Roth. I loved learning more about Four & how he got to where he was in the Divergent series.

5.  The Walking Dead:  Book Ten I love these, that's all I can say.

6.  Don't Blink by James Patterson. I am rarely disappointed by JP & he did well with this one as well.

7.  The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer. I really enjoyed this book & a TON more than he…
