Friday Five...

It seems like forever since I've done one of these...which is true, the last one I did was May 8th.  I've been slackin'!  Eeek!  Anywho, my Friday Five for today are things I love during the summer:

  1.  Baseball games.  I'll be venturing to the first Brewer game of the season tomorrow for Star Wars Night.  I am excited...I would probably more excited if the Brew Crew were on top of their game but they are not.  So, I think that I'm more excited about getting some Heavenly Nuts than the actual game.  Sorry guys but when you pull your heads outta your butts, I'll be more excited for a good game.

  2.  Campfires.  I love toasting my toes by a campfire & maybe making some s'mores with PB cups.  Yummy!  & chatting, oh, I love the chats that are held around the campfire.  They are quite entertaining from time to time.

  3.  Sitting by the lake with my book.  During the summer, I like to drive to either a local lake or the river and read my book during lunch.  That will be starting not next week but the week after when the girls are on summer break.  If they are home, I don't like to be home cuz lunch is a time for me to unwind a little bit.

  4.  Going boating.  See that boat that's docked, that's Paul's parents' boat that we like to take out.  We stop at local eating establishments on the lake even though I typically pack a cooler of drinks & goodies.  I love boating, it probably is my favorite summer activity.

  5.  Being a porch monkey.  I love sitting on the front porch whether it's to eat or read or visiting with neighbors.  If I'm seen out there, people will venture & then we chat into the night & maybe enjoy some ice cream or drinky-drinks.

What are your favorite things about summer?

  1. I'm a deck monkey! Haha and you should post about what you're reading!!

    1. I just love being outside when it gets nice cuz us Wisconsinites don't get many nice days to enjoy.

I'm actually reading Paper Towns right now & I really like it. :)

Happy 34th Birthday To Me...

Since tomorrow is my 34th birthday, I decided in celebration of it, I should list 34 facts about me.  So, here we go:

1.  For lunch today, I had a Big Grab bag of Funyuns, a bottle of Dew & some mini-Snickers.  I'm all about my health today, it seems.  :|

2.  I bought my first pair of leggings today since I was about 12.  They are for working out & they were on clearance.

3.  Speaking of leggings, I so badly want the tattoo version of them.  You know how the complete coverage of the arm in tattoos is called a "sleeve", I started calling the complete coverage of the leg in tattoos a "legging".  Ha!

4.  I've seen every episode of Friends at least ten times.  Paul will turn it on when it's on TV & test me on what episode it is...I'm rarely wrong.

5.  I really, really, really want to go back to Vegas real soon.  I'm almost half-tempted to ask Paul if we can go there for our second anniversary.

6.  I pretty much have tiny panic attacks on a da…

Words of Wisdom Wednesday...

True frickin' dat!  The old phrase "think before you speak" comes to mind.  I know that sometimes emotions get the best of us & we don't think things through before we let words leave our lips.  Sometimes those words can be hurtful, embarrassing or lovable.  Lovable doesn't seem to be one that comes to mind, I'm sure, but I remember the first time that Goose told me that he loved me.  He didn't think it through & those three lil words came flying outta his mouth at a birthday party in an old friend's living room.  I could not believe it but those words were already out in the universe.

I doubt that Goose would change anything now but at the time, it scared him to say those words & he probably would have thought it through a little better but, in that case, I'm glad that he didn't.

However, I'm really trying to get the girls to think before they speak & I tell them that once words leave their lips, they may have it off thei…
